Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Just a moment to thank any left-wing transgender witch from the bottom of my heart. May the dark lord bless you. 😌👍

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

You're welcome, you're welcome it really was nothing

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Well, sure. They're a big demographic, and well-educated.

How does one learn witchcraft?

I already am trans

[–] Squirrelanna@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 5 hours ago

You already have. You have a passive magical aura that sends certain people with fragile minds into frothing madness simply at a glance. HRT? A potion you regularly ingest or inject to polymorph your body into the perfect version of yourself. If you manage to gather more power, you can enthrall a group of highly trained people to fleshcraft the rest of yourself, though certainly not required.

I know of one thing that might qualify:

I don't believe in this, but... if you wanna know...You need a thin sheet of lead or pewter, but steel probably can work without being illegal / environmentally damaging. Preferably the metal sheet should be close to dark grey and not shiny.

Using a knife you must deeply scratch the metal to engrave the names or a sufficient description of who you will curse on it in sentences like "I CURSE ALAN SMITHEE, JAN NOWAK, (...) FOR THE TRANSGRESSION OF (...) Make sure the lettering is small enough. If the different people did different things you have to write it too.

Make sure to make your demands be in-between sycophantic and entitled. The chthonic powers like brazenness and high emotion, but at the same time to be addressed with respect and the praise reserved for a god. You are not addressing something that empathizes with you (that is a grave mistake). You are addressing something that has power and enjoys it and it likes to do little favors for humans as a way of enjoying that power.

Then, you need to fold it once with a hammer, and then drive a nail through the tablet.

And finally, drop the tablet in a place physically deep within the Earth, in a place without water to corrode it and where it will not be disturbed. The drop part is important: it has to be in some place "deep" enough to be unreachable once dropped. It has to fall into inescapable darkness. You should not look down or look back.

Nine out of ten sorcerers agree this curse increases the likelihood of ruination and absolute despair for at least one of the people involved by one-hundred to two-hundred and twenty percent, side effects may include all-consuming regret and eternal torment after death. 😙 (this is satire.)

Ol' reliable left wing transgender witches

[–] Nublets@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

So I'm a bit confused, are we talking witches with balls or wizards without? I mean if trans women are still men then by his philosophy they should be wizards... Or is witch gender neutral? Seems oddly progressive for him.

[–] Squirrelanna@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 hours ago

This implies they remember that trans men exist and don't just think it's all men pretending to be women to perv in bathrooms until someone reminds them.

[–] the_flying_pig@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I prefer to think that witches and wizards are not gendered professions, and anyone can be either. It depends on the magic used.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 hours ago

Wizards study books. Witches study nature.

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 23 points 16 hours ago

"Never thought I'd vote side by side with a witch."

"What about with an activist?"

"Aye, I could do that."

GATHER THE COVEN, IT'S CIRCLE CASTING TIME

[–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 11 points 14 hours ago

Left wing transgender wizard here. When will the gender stereotypes for trans people stop??

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah.
We vote.
That's how elections work.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

We also don't like voting for people who demonize us. And we encourage people who care about us to vote as well

[–] GalacticSushi@lemmy.blahaj.zone 75 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Thank you for your service 🫡

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 17 points 20 hours ago

Happy to help, and to be honest the GOPers have been unrepentent GRIFTERS, CARPET BAGGERS, ASSHOLES, PEDOPHILES, ETC, so making them look bad was mostly a matter of getting out of the way.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 15 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

When I was a Christian in the 80s, most of the other Christians I knew were at least still accepting of science. Belief in witchcraft was something that was considered an extreme fringe superstition, even by Christians.

Today? It seems like most Christians live in fear of witches, devils, and books.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 4 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

Faith is only meaningful in the face of evidence. Alternatively faith is tested by evidence.

Anyone who can adhere to their faith in the face of overwhelming evidence can dismiss any and all evidence of anything. This leads to any evidence, regardless of if it's contrary to an article of faith, being denied.

The end result is complete and willful ignorance. Ignorance leads to a host of other anti social behaviour, like thinking that transfem witches are coming to steal your testosterone and makes you gay, for example.

They need to get those witches on retainer to curse the whole party

[–] zurohki@aussie.zone 14 points 15 hours ago

I hope those witches increased their prices after that, they do good work.

[–] No_Ones_Slick_Like_Gaston@lemmy.world 15 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

We still have time to request some additional curses. Just saying.

Gosh, that movie... I was thinking about a rewatch, to see how it hits me now. Just seeing this picture and I'm left with tears in my eyes :3

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I'm thinking of watching it next week. I've heard such good things

[–] chunk6235@piefed.social 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I'm pretty sure it's "I Saw the TV Glow", which from what I've heard is a horror movie about putting off transitioning. I've been meaning to give it a watch

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 23 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

He does not think that. He's just saying it to give their lunatic base an explanation that prevents them from realizing the obvious truth that no one in the US wants a christian theocracy.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 5 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

I'd say about 10-20% of the US population would be quite happy with a theocracy.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 2 points 14 hours ago

My 99% confidence interval for that is 0-40%.

[–] Kraiden@piefed.social 6 points 16 hours ago

Surely there were a non zero number of left wing transgender witches that were polled, sooooooo teeeechnically...

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The way they specify left-wing makes me feel like he may be recruiting transgender witches to the "right-wing" to find a counterbalance.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 4 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

It's to equate being left-wing with being a transgender dick-stealing witch, or whatever insane boogey man the ignorant should be afraid of today.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

The dick stealing witch superstition is one of those things that's wild and also kinda funny until you think about the violence done because of it

I'm deeply saddened witchcraft is just spicy meditation and ritual for me and doesn't give me the ability to actually do such things

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

How does a dick stealing witch work? Is it like even trade? Or do I get the ovaries and pain she's stuck with?

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 3 points 13 hours ago

Stealing (theft) requires deprivation of the rightful owner of the property in question.

You're describing barter.

These witches have galleries of stolen dicks, with tastefully arranged displays of stolen testes to augment the whole ensemble.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago

Hell yeah ladies! Keep it up.

Someone should call the witches that cursed charlie kirk, I bet they would help here too.

[–] thesingingsea@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 points 19 hours ago

muahahaha ✨🏳️‍⚧️🧙‍♀️🏳️‍⚧️✨

i volunteer for a pulsa dinura, I think it takes 10 people at least

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago

Ted Cruz is right! Those witches work so hard, they’re doing noble work.

[–] hamsamrich@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

I bookmarked this important piece of art

[–] redbrick@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

I wonder if he's got his next vacation planned? Anyone know? So folks can get ready...cause this dude is one with the weather gods.
