As unrest surged across France this weekend, the most surprising attack came in the quiet city of Limoges, where rioters set fire to the city hall.

The French city of Paris was not known for riots in 1750 either...

And then burning down the school.

The only thing these french "protesters" achieved, besides huge economic damage, is to give the next election to Marine Le Pen.

Then they will REALLY regret their actions.

Edit: don't get the downvotes. I hate the far right. I was just stating the obvious.

I wouldn't be surprised those rioters to be right wing activist trying to amplify unrest to make her go up in the pools. Or simply russian agents trying to do the same. Russia would win greatly as both extremes (right and left) agree that France should stop supporting Ukraine.

Russia and Israel and the US and Rupert Murdoch and, and and... Many political actors benefit from supporting rightwing cunts and they all play their part splendidly

They could also just be criminals mobilized on social media by rightwingers or hostile state actors. That seems more plausible to me. It's now possible to get provocateurs who don't even know that's what they're being manipulated to be.

Were you under the impression that Le Pen wasn't winning before this?

[–] Lydon_Feen@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

No, unfortunately. I'm saying it strengthens her.
