An Israeli surveillance technology firm has run a large-scale operation to infect mobile phones with spyware using online advertisements to hack the devices, researchers said on Thursday.

Here is a bit more information that might help, I posted this in privacy too.

There was a website on here not too long ago that showed various phones and their level of smartness one could buy. Anyone got a link for that?

Yeah... My company blocks the ability to install extensions so no ad blocking. I can't even use my DNS adblocker when working from home since the computer can only be online using the company VPN

It's been kind of absurd seeing what the internet looks like without an adblocker and I don't understand why anyone would choose not to use one

If you fuckers push any harder I will absolutely get off ass and complete that phone-is-now-a-thin-client-to-remote-burner-sessions project.

I am a bit confused. Which institutional EU website features auctioned ads to begin with?
