https://freesewing.eu/designs/hi/ you could also make your own out of whatever material you like, without giving money to billionaires

Nice. This is really cool. I didn't know this existed. The examples of the custom blahajes look really fun.

It's great that anyone can make a blahaj if they know how to sew well enough to do so. Despite being supposedly socialized to know how to sew, it never took, I can't sew, so I'm afraid I won't be making my own blahaj. :(

As far as giving money to billionaires, you will still have to buy fabric and materials, but I imagine it is technically possible to source those from a local craftsperson. I'm not sure how many people will do this, but I'm sure it is technically possible.

It's a great reason to learn to sew. And if you want to make it even more subversive (self reliance is resistance to oppression) you invite a couple people and make a sewing group to learn from and with eachother, pool tools/resources, as well as strengthen your community in preparation for what may come.

Again, I was taught to sew. No amount of teaching me to sew or me trying to learn to sew resulted in me knowing how to sew. I've also been in a sewing circle before. It just wasn't my thing. Great idea for someone else, though.

And so you will remain reliant on the benevolence of IKEA and Shenzen.

Well, at least China is pretty good at auditing their billionaires and forcing them to flee to Japan.

What you're saying isn't true, though. If enough people make their own blahajes, I can buy one from them.

That’s not particularly cheaper is it?

[–] graycloud@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

It's about $9 cheaper

You could spend that $9 on something for your boobs

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But your boobs will hide and shrink in shame of knowing that your blåhaj is not real and you skimped on him/her.

[–] graycloud@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not true, I got one of these for my wife, and she has great boobs.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

How about yours huh? Have they shrunk and shriveled yet from shame?

I went to Jupiter to get more stupider

[–] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Where are you from? In my country its about the same price

[–] graycloud@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh, that's a shame. You should get the blahaj sewing pattern then, and make your blahaj out of old shirts.

[–] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Because the official blahaj is cheaper in my country compared to yours?

[–] graycloud@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

Well, it’s the only way for you to make a savings.

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

The world needs more blahaj.

[–] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Does any money go to trans people from it?

they would announce it proudly if it did

I don't know if that's true. Most trans people I've known who have some sort of small business or side hustle don't announce that they're trans in their resale shop.

[–] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago
[–] anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

nah, the trans women in china don't announce their transness to the world. You'd have to look at their trends on social media or ask them directly to find out. I know because I'm fwiends with a t4t couple living in China. There's like a 50% chance those blåhajs are designed or made by at least one Chinese trans woman.
