Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

This used to be funny a long time ago, but...now it just makes me really dysphoric. I need to get some sleep...

First one to have sex in a blonksy device wins.

I for one have no idea why the birthing centrifuge didn't catch on.

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago

Uh, yeah thanks, I'll skip

That looks like an excellent way to reduce your total number of holes by one

They should invent a centrifuge to separate the mother from the child.

Childbirth is no joke. I was by my partners side for all 4 of our children's births. All of them could easily have killed her or the baby if we weren't in a more developed country.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Childbirth is a miracle, there's no other way around it. I'm very glad your wife is okay, I know (not from experience, obvs) how taxing and demanding physically and mentally it is. I have so much respect for everyone that goes through with it.
Best of luck. From your posts and comments, I can already tell you're an amazing mom, even tho it's difficult. You're amazing 💜

[–] Berengaria_of_Navarre@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thanks darling. Just remember that motherhood isn't out of reach for you either. The important part is the 18 years after childbirth. There are plenty of children who don't have parents who would be greatful to be raised in a loving family.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thanks that's really nice of you.

I know that...but still, I'm a really selfish person. Adoption is (in my mind) amazing, a good deed. But...I can barely take care of myself, I don't think I'm ready to take care of another human being.

For some reason, I keep thinking that if it was a child I carried for 9 months, things would be different. I'd do everything to take care of that kid, no matter what it would cost me. It's selfish and it doesn't make sense, don't worry about it. Sorry

Thanks 🩷

Trust me plenty of highly dysfunctional parents raise perfectly well adjusted children and vice versa.

I hope you used them to try all 4 positions and can provide detailed comparison.

Apparently cycling between the positions is the way to work them loose. It clearly works because they were all born without C-section and the runt of the litter was 4.3kg.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Hey, umm...I may be misreading this, but this seems slightly offensive tbh. She did just say that childbirth would have easily killed her wife if it wasn't a more developed country. I don't think now is the time to joke about stuff like that...

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net -5 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I don't know, if the third time they almost died didn't stop them from going for the 4th I probably wasn't that bad.

Actually during the second, the sheets had to be changed half way through because they were basically saturated with blood. And she described the pain as being a bit like being crushed by a collapsed building or being hit by a truck. She'd just decided she wanted 4 and she is easily the most stubborn person I've ever met.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

So flippant about women facing death to bring in life. Read the room.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Do you have any actual proof of that, whether from the person giving birth or someone present?

Sorry for being a prude, this just seems super disrespectful tbh

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

being a prude

You will never be accused of that

Seriously, you are right, that is disrespectful

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

I guess, considering who I am and what I do, I really can't be a prude, huh? 😂

Seriously, you are right, that is disrespectful

Thank you 🙏
I had a feeling...

[–] blinfabian@feddit.nl 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

thank god for the NSFW tag. if someone saw me looking at this by accident i would surely have lost my boyfriend, family, friends and ended my carreer for EVER. thank you so much

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It was mainly because I didn't want to make people intensely dysphoric (as I did to myself by even posting this), but if it helped you, you're welcome ofc! :3

[–] blinfabian@feddit.nl 3 points 3 days ago (3 children)

is this a transgender sub? ive been lurking here for a while and i just dont know what 196 means honestly. all i know is the memes are fire usually xD

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

It isn’t, but most users probably are or at least lgbt.

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago

Not specifically a trans sub, it's supposed to be a shitposting sub. BUT! Since there are so many trans people here (mostly trans women), we've taken over, hihi 🩷
So yes, this is totally a trans sub now :3

Dumb, NSFW, TMIOmg, trans sub sounds so lewd! Is that basically what I am? ❤️
I'm horny out of my mind, don't mind me...

[–] white_nrdy@programming.dev 2 points 3 days ago

Not specifically, no it isn't. But that doesn't mean people can't tag posts with whatever warnings they want.

[–] bloomnolia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

You took in a big thing, you put out an even bigger thing

You’re describing my digestive system

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Just the first part, unfortunately 😔

[–] bloomnolia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well technically, you could *chuckles

[–] Miisha@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think I get it...and I don't find that funny tbh. I know this isn't exactly what you're doing, but something about comparing the miracle of childbirth to...defecation...just rubs me the wrong way...
Sorry

These make a lot more sense than lying down. Why wouldn't you want gravity assistance?

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Being yet unable to do any of it, I feel like the lateral one would be most difficult. Gravity's gonna help least with that one. I'll pick all other ones, esp the hands and knees and the throne, for comfort.
