He literally has his own personal ballroom at home, so it's not like he's ballroom deprived.

[–] ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip 11 points 2 days ago

He needed more room for his collection of Republicans' balls he's taken. Spineless worms.

[–] Bonje@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He also likes big strong firemen.

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

And Arnold Palmer's big wang.

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

To be fair to Cinderella's evil stepsisters - they weren't incontinent.

He wants a ballroom the size of a Sam's Club because he thinks he can hold dinners in it and charge each guest a million dollars.

There’s videos going around that the ballroom is a lid to an exclusive environment in which they’ll house some local AI model. They’ve been pulling contracts in the DC area to upgrade the water & electrical infrastructure. If they can put a model, with access to a bunch of government records, under the purview of the executive branch’s physical domain (WH & nearby land), then who will really stop them from doing whatever it is they’ll do?

47 loves flood the zone and using a dumb thing to keep everyone’s attention while bad actors move their plans along…

that's conspiracy that doesn't make any sense.

there is no reason for a datacenter, no matter how much you want to protect it, to be below the whitehouse. there is A LOT of logistical problems with it for absolutely no gain. also it is not like the "goverment records" is some singular entity that is concentrated in one place (and that that place would be whitehouse).

us already have an institution for digitally spying on americans, it is called nsa. if they want another datacenter, it is far easier to build it in the middle of the nowhere and surround it with appropriate amount of barbed wire and guards with assault rifles.

i am pretty sure he just wants better and bigger bunker than putin has, with blackjack and underage victims of sex trafficking.

Not a data center, but the infrastructure for a secure AI “tech stack.” You don’t need to support a huge amount of users: you need to support like a handful.

The gains are executive ownership when we’re in a broken system. It’s not like Congress is going to do much to stop whoever if it gets built.

I would have agreed with you on the records before 2025. There’s been plenty of reporting post DOGE of nefarious actors securing & consolidating records, especially through Palantir.

It’s not about “protection.” It’s about lack of oversight.

Also, let’s say you’re right, and it’s a dumb idea… would that add any validity here given the audience? The man who just “proclaimed” it’s “super” intelligence maybe doesn’t make smart plans? Wouldn’t it make more sense if, instead of a vain ballroom, it was a distraction to have more power with less oversight?

Feel free to call it a conspiracy. So much dumb shit has happened in the last few years that would be unimaginable half a decade ago. This sounds more plausible to me than the other ideas why he cares so much.

AI “tech stack.”

sounds like just another word for datacenter

You don’t need to support a huge amount of users:

it is not about supporting users. you need to support the hardware. something constantly breaks in operation this big, so that means people going in, lot of airconditioning and cooling which makes a lot of noise, exactly something you don't want in whitehouse.

and that all does not take into account that it is not his own bond-villain evil lair - he will be kicked out in 2 years or so.

The man who just “proclaimed” it’s “super” intelligence maybe doesn’t make smart plans?

i'll give you this one 😂 but i still think his motivation is far more childish. we will see. or not 🤷‍♂️

It’s not like Congress is going to do much to stop whoever if it gets built.

They're not going to stop anything he wants to do without it either. He's been blatantly doing whatever he wants since he got back in office and no one's done a god damn thing. He's not intelligent enough to come up with a conspiracy like this anyway.

[–] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Far more likely that they're reinforcing the shit out of it in preparation of the coming environmental collapse and making a bunker for them to continue diddling kids after society collapses

[–] Fandangalo@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

why_not_both.gif?

I think it’s a “yes and” situation. Modern outfitting, kick backs for friends on bids, consolidate power hidden away from other branches, and house a SUPER computer with SUPER intelligence, just like a SUPER villain.

[–] EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He loves ballrooms, cakes himself in makeup, obsessively listens to the Phantom of the Opera, and goes down on dudes. He's bi at least.

[–] DakRalter@thelemmy.club 5 points 2 days ago

No, he's just into kids.

[–] VGpunx@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Does AC/DC count?

[–] bertlewirth@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

AND orange :)

[–] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Joke's on you! I have fantasized on more than one occasion about filling a room with ballpit balls (and then bolting climbing handholds and rope tying loops to the walls to make a spiderweb hammock that you have to climb up to, but the ballpit is the most essential part of the room)

Yes but this is the normal dream of a balls room, that one is good and healthy.

Too young to have gone through the skinny jean phase.

He's basically a pedophile.

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 days ago

He's not only a member of the pedophile club, he's also president.

fatphobia and misogyny oh boy 😍

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

...are just two of His Imperial Presidency's toxic traits!

The only way the post is "punching down" is because he's the lowest of the low.

[–] naught@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I mean it's the definition of punching down. Bitches and the "fat" catching strays when the man has plenty of garbage qualities to choose from. The OP oozes cringe millennial humor that should be left behind IMO.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Eh, I'm a fat woman myself, sometimes a bitch, and it didn't bother me. Maybe because I'm also old.

[–] naught@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I don't think it should be prosecuted in the Hague or anything. I just think if we're gonna lambast the orange fuck we should do it right without dragging the innocent and marginalized down too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

e: especially if we're claiming any sort of moral high ground

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

Yeah you're probably right.
