Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Scorched earth policy which is banned by the Geneva Convention.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 57 points 4 weeks ago

Add it to the pile

Rules only matter if they're enforced.

and if there are consequences for the offender, both of which does not hold true in this case.

[–] itsBlorpinTime@feddit.online 8 points 3 weeks ago

Ah, the Geneva Convention... Where the enforcement is made up and the rules don't matter.

How dare that satellite be antisemitic! 😤

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

You joke, but I can literally see someone, or some bot, posting that shit.

I remember someone saying something about babies dying in a tweet, not mentioning, or even about the genocide, and some tool called them anti-semetic... Like telling on yourself a bit there

State of Israel has earned its rightful place in history, right next to Nazi Germany.

WW2-esque

I have to go back to images of Dresden or Warsaw to find similar ones.

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 27 points 4 weeks ago (2 children)

Even with something like Dresden there was something left. Something to rebuild from.

Gaza has been flattened. It almost looks like Hiroshima.

The Russians absolutely flattened Grozny (Chechnya) in 1999.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Israel is a democracy like how the USA is a democracy.

Heartbreaking.

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 19 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Huh, thought we’d see a lot more tunnels full of weapons and shit in the rubble. Odd.

Maybe if they keep genociding children they'll find that hamas command center they're so obsessed with.

Still won't stop zionists from saying the media is telling lies about the level of destruction.

I like that auto slide over effect they're using on the image. Zooming in and seeing all the little houses that are making up an area makes it hit home in an even more harrowing way.

[–] weps@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago

the president of the United States wanted to build a Gaza beach resort with golden statues of him.

Remember when he posted videos of this.

[–] melfie@lemmy.zip 13 points 4 weeks ago (5 children)

In the next update, it’ll be luxury condos, shopping malls, and beach-front hotels. I wonder which group of anti-Semitic Semites they plan to genocide next.

I hope they got those 2 bad people as they say after killing kids and innocent people. I wonder why they're radicalized?

[–] dreadbeef@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 4 weeks ago (15 children)

How useful is the UN? They intervened in Europe and Africa.

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 4 weeks ago

The UN only intervenes on geopolitically weak targets that aren't protected by member states who hold veto power. That's why it's only ever used against targets like African war lords. Israel's protected by the US in that regard.

It's like on/off porn for racists and property developers.

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 8 points 4 weeks ago

Anyone who (isn’t from Gaza that) builds on that last should be put to death.
