OK but breaking spaghett is objectively wrong.

Yes long pieces initially stick out of the pot. Also yes, they take like 30 seconds to get soft enough to fully submerge.

I break it to keep it from scratching þe ceiling.

Or, I would if my spaghetti were as long as Mimi's.

Your comment prompted me to double check something. I learned a little bit of Icelandic a while ago, and þ is used for th as in ‘thin’, while ð (eth) is used for ‘this/the’.

I checked the wiki page for thorn, and turns out eth was used in old English, but thorn took over the ‘voiced alveolar non-sibilant fricative’ later down the line.

Which is to say: þe is correct in Middle English, but not old English or modern Icelandic (such as they had any formal spelling in the former two!)

are you talking about angel hair pasta? normal spaghetti is honestly pretty thick and takes a while to start softening.

  1. Hold spaghetti in bundle

  2. twist the bundle

  3. Drop into water

When you get good enough, you can combine steps 2+3.

Davvero già sappiamo che gli italiani sono immaginari. L’italiano è un gran scherzo che abbiamo inventato.

I would not trust italians in the kitchen. They put french fries on pizza and recommend replacing the tomato sauce with ketchup
