Just looking at this externally, it's fascinating to me that at least one person has done this. Like actually take the time and effort to make a whole different account just to pose as someone of a different race and say "racism isn't that bad"

Like actually thinking up that idea, signing out of twitter, thinking of a username, creating a new account, with a new email, logging in to that new email and verifying the account, finding a profile picture that works, and posting backwards opinions as an impersonator.

Like that stuff takes time and effort. It's all for the wrong reason, but even if I was some kind of misguided bigot, I'm not doing all that just to be like "heh, showed them".

More people need outdoor hobbies.

The source or their intention doesn't matter. Take their statements at face value, as they stand on their own without your fantasizing about who they are or why they said that.

It doesn't matter, because you can't know. You can only fantasize that you know. Your comment is in fact a false statement on its own merit, since you don't know what you see or not in the comments, you only feel that you see this, so your deductions based on those feelings are a falsity and worthless.

People on Lemmy call me different things every day, and a good 90% of them are totally batshit wrong. For example, I say something pro-2nd amendment, and they claim that I am a Trumper. I say the Bible says something; they insist that I am a Christian. I'm a bot, a spy, a liar, all "judgments" based on fantasy and without value.

All of them believe that they are right and feel it, and they are all wrong.

As a black woman I am offended by this comic

Its like when charlie kirk forgot to log into his alt on Twitter and commented on his own post saying he was a black man lol

This can mean two things at the same time:

1. A racist white guy who poses as a black woman online to spread his opinions (the take most people seems to be getting).
2. An actual black woman being tired of only talking about racism, triggering a so-called white ally to write a spicy comment (the kind of person who constantly gets offended on behalf of others).

Turns out, when you have anonymous posting, anyone can be anyone.

9 times out of 10, if you're engaging someone in political talk, you're talking to someone in China, Russia, or India.

"The thing is the thing" regardless of who says it or doesn't say it. People used to do it for fun back in the day on the chans so I'm a little immune to it, and I just assume they're paid actors, bots, trolls or simply a very ignorant/confused member of the group they claim to belong to. Still, it's very annoying, although kind of inevitable in anonymous/pseudonymous spaces. 😔
