Posting Etiquette

  1. Ask the main part of your question in the title. This should be concise but informative.

  2. Provide everything up front. Don't make people fish for more details in the comments. Provide background information and examples.

  3. Be present for follow up questions. Don't ask for help and run away. Stick around to answer questions and provide more details.

  4. Ask about the problem you're trying to solve. Don't focus too much on debugging your exact solution, as you may be going down the wrong path. Include as much information as you can about what you ultimately are trying to achieve. See more on this here: https://xyproblem.info/

I recently posted about how I started to study web development by creating my own site. Even though at first it felt very hard and I was struggling, I managed to understand it well and designed the website well myself. Also, I managed to adjust the size on websites for different screens.

So after getting the decent amount of knowledge about HTML and CSS, I decided to learn JavaScript also. As a complete beginner planning to learn and write JavaScript. I thought it was the dead end to my website development journey. But the logic of Javascript was very identical and comparable to Python programming, as I already know Python basics very well. After learning some basics of JavaScript, I managed to implement a greeting message on my website using the if/else loop.

posting this update as a motivation to someone who easily gives up or feels overwhelmed on their web development. Also, I would like to inform you that I still didn't give up and am still trying to learn it by utilising my free time. I believe that my childish coding would help someone that can also do HTML, CSS and Javascript and improve themselves on it.

On the first day nothing will be perfect, but eventually it will be.

Hell yeah, keep going! I personally learned Javascript through https://learnjavascript.online/ and can highly recommend it (and their react course as well)

That's great ! Web developement is always fun because you see results quickly.

Javascript never "clicked" with me but it's a nice tool.

Depending on what you want you may want to try doing a bit of php next but never forget that HTML as a lot of nice tools, when I'm trying to do something I always go back to that list : https://chrisburnell.com/html-can-do-that/ and try to find if there isn't a native html element that can do the trick.
