Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Saxony-Anhalt is like the fucking Red Run Arkansas Oblast. However, those idiots who voted for the fucking neo-Nazis should have immediate post WWII photos of Magdeburg shoved in front of their faces with Soviet soldiers policing the area.
81 years ago, the fascists of the world learned just how wrong they were. Seems we will have to teach that lesson to them again.

My guess is the AFD will try to install similar systems as orban did in Hungary. Once AFD functionaries can get their hands on might and government money they will try to tuck as much as possible into their pockets. They talk about patriotism but only act in their own self-interest. They dont even have real plans or visions on how to improve their voters live and are not able to give real substantial answers to journalists questions. But this doesn't matter to a lot of voters because they are either too frustrated by their own lives or the corrupt shit other political parties did or just brain rotted from tik tok. The AFD talking about patriotism makes them feel good and so they can neglect the fact that the AFD will make their live even worse and they can also neglect that the AFD will do ten times the corrupt shit the "mainstream" parties did. It's like a drug making you feel good even while facing doom.
The only flag these people have is the one on the €50 note

Fascism has always been about opposition to labor movements in general and socialism in particular. I would bet that China is currently preparing to be invaded and, like the USSR last time, do most of the job of putting down the fascists before other countries join in.
Not sure what you mean - I don't see anyone daring to invade China in the present or foreseeable future.
Judging by their performances against Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon, the Nazi's don't seem to have any military power either.

*Pulls up soapbox* A little bit of background might be in order:
- AfD is the strongest party in all of the former GDR states, including SA where yesterdays' elections were held. They stand for unbridled, neoliberal capitalism, garnished with lots of anti-immigration rhetoric. Their boss worked for Goldman-Sachs and that's saying it all, really.
- SA - one state out of 16 - has 2.1 million inhabitants, out of Germany's 83.5 million. They do have an outsized influence on the 2nd chamber of parliament, though. As of now, it looks like they will form a coalition government and rule SA.
- In the whole of Germany, AfD currently polls at 27-28%; runner-up is the conservative CDU which is currently leading the federal government, at 20-21%. AfD polls especially high in places where the previous, notorious right-wing party, NPD, did; and before them, the NSDAP. They poll especially high among blue-collar workers, first-time (young) voters and previous non-voters.
- In the EU parliament, AfD has 15 of ESN's 27 seats. Judging from the seating in the parliament, and from who wants to form a coalition with the AfD, it becomes clear that they are significantly farther right-wing than the likes of Orbán, Le Pen, Fico, Meloni, Salvini or any of the EU-wide known names, really.
- I recommend this free 2024 study to assess the immense danger democracy in Germany is facing. Trans people, women, feminists, Jews, immigrants, social Darwinism - far-right wing voters poll approximately 1.5-3x as high in "hate" values than right-wing voters.
- The long and short is: Don't come to Germany, especially not Eastern Germany, and especially not if you don't have lily-white skin. This is my honest, sober advice for you.

it may be a 'reunified' state, but the divide between the former east and west germany is very much still apparent in many, if not most, maps that outline pretty much any demographic.
I mean, if they actually used their own laws, they could just ignore that idiotic quarter. When the nation was set up, not going Nazi again was a major consideration. Buuut the precedent for legal action, now, is that every anti-constitutional group is too small to qualify, too big to qualify, or, like, both.
