Full title: Microsoft’s recent decisions paint a clear picture — Xbox Cloud Gaming is no longer the future the company once promised. "I was recently told by Microsoft figures that, given compute demands for AI, Xbox Cloud Gaming is effectively losing money when used beyond 15 hours per month."

Who could have forseen that streaming graphics-intensive games over the internet to thousands of people at a time would consume a lot of electricity, processing power, and bandwidth?

So The idea was to reduce ownership and increase subscriptions for a steady stream of cash, of which users would pay forever for something that used to be a 50 dollar one time fee.

Now, even that's too expensive so they're having up the price and capping the hours you can play per month.

Which means, any suckers that bought into this scheme are always at the mercy of a company that can alter the deal at any time, and leave you with nothing.

PlayStation is doing it as well.

I implore all people it there reading this... Don't subscribe to anything! You're giving up control in exchange for nothing!

You know how Microsoft has been really loved by customers lately? Well, what if they cut back even more services they provided?

It's laughable they don't see the irony of cutting back products so that they lose that much less money on AI due to expensive compute costs. Just pull the fucking cord, ffs.
