Scientists with the project have found that blueberries can make up to 83 percent of the diet of wolves living in and around Voyageurs National Park during July and August, when it’s more difficult to catch deer and beaver.
I found the above to be crazy given I always thought wolves were mostly meat eaters. I guess that just shows my ignorance though.
Tbh, there's few actually fully obligate carnivores, I think the only one that's 100% all meat all the time is the Polar Bear

But they eat what's available, and most of their prey isn't out running around during the hottest days of the year, but they are likely to be in/around food sources like a blueberry bush.
If not, might as well eat some blueberries.
Vegetarian/carnivore isnt binary in nature tho. Animals specialize, but none of them are turning down a free meal. Deer, goats, cows, and pretty much every herbivore won't hesitate to chomp down on a bird or a small rodent given a chance. Especially domestic livestock.
It just has to be bite sized.
