Holy shit I’m in tears. This is what Reddit used to be

Even twenty single carrots is a lot to deal with. What was he planning?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 7 points 1 day ago

My grandmother did the same thing with potatoes. She accidentally managed to somehow order 220 baking potatoes, for some reason no one at Sainsbury's thought that that was an odd thing to want and didn't question the order and just went ahead and fulfilled it.

We get mixed deliveries now and then. We recently got a bag of someone else's groceries, and they got a bag of ours. We lost some not very important stuff, but gained a 5 pound bag of pecans, so we made out on this one.

When life gives you carrots,

I've been wanting to switch out the buckwheat husk filling in my pillow. So I ordered £14 of the stuff.....turns out that I now am in possession of enough buckwheat husk to be a heirloom for my descendants to last to the heat death of the universe......

[–] CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They basically sent you an even bigger buckwheat pillow. You could use it as a buckwheat mattress.

TIL about buckwheat husk filling in pillows.

I really like it, stays cooler longer, is firm but also conforms to the shape of your head and neck a bit

It's common in traditional meditation cushions. It gives you a firm seat while still conforming nicely. There's nothing else like it, honestly.

This once happened to me with Kroger and limes

They subbed 6 limes for 6 bags of limes

As a citrus enjoyer I was not at all stressed though. I'd legit eat a lime straight.

[–] BoosBeau@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago

Oh yeah, well I'd eat a lime gay, so HAH!

[–] GandalftheBlack@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago

I love eating lemons and limes but I try not to do it too often. Definitely not good for my teeth.

[–] MrsDoyle@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 days ago

Wasted away again in margaritaville....

[–] TammyTobacco@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Lime-aid is the obvious answer

I just had the exact opposite problem. Ordered 2, 5lb bags of potatoes. They tried to give me 2 individual ones.

[–] alsimoneau@lemmy.ca 64 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As long as both potatoes are 5lbs, I don't see the problem!

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 20 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Those would be some bigass potatoes.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 days ago

Idaho is path to abilities some would consider... Unnatural.

My gf ordered a bunch of bananas... They gave her 1 banana... I then tried to do a Gwen Stefanie impression singing "this shit is bananas" I was told that was I was being immature though

[–] moondoggie@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You should have apologized and started singing “This shit is banana.”

Had this happen with big bags of ricola cough drops a ski lodge was giving out for free, my family had enough cough drops for like 15 years

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I did something similar with bananas from Fred Meyer when they changed the units for orders from 'banana' to 'bunch'.

[–] blackberry28@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago

I prolly would have asked at the next zoo or farm whether they want free carrots lol

Wait... Who has a apartment building group chat? Am I missing out or that just weird?

[–] kazerniel@piefed.world 9 points 1 day ago (5 children)

We had one in the first building I lived in the UK, it was handy for gossip lol ("what was that screaming last night on the top floor?"). The address was posted on the entrance hall cork board. Ever since I moved from there, I wished that my subsequent buildings/neighbourhoods also had one, but even if one exists, it's deathly silent for months at a time :/

[–] vrek@programming.dev 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The screaming reminded me of one time I was walking my dog around the apartment complex at like 10pm. As I walked by the one building I heard some woman scream from the third floor "oh yeah fuck my pussy papi" at the top of her lungs. I have no idea who screamed or who lived there but I guess she was having a good time.

[–] kazerniel@piefed.world 1 points 1 day ago

Sadly the screaming in our case was apparently attempted rape during a party 😬
