…or whatever meal it is. Is it something magnificent you made at home? Is it Spaghettios? A gas station burrito? Take out/delivery from a local place?

Honestly asking to see if I can get some new ideas for food to take to work.

I am way too lazy to cook everyday, but getting even fast food every day is expensive as fuck. So the compromise is to meal prep so I only need to cook twice a week, and lately I've been making these homemade Chipotle burrito bowls to bring to work for lunch. The cost of the ingredients is somewhere around $23ish which is little bit over a single meal from Chipotle, but makes enough for 5 meals

I mostly just wing it but this is usually how it goes. Obviously you can add, remove, or substitute whatever you want

Prep: Slice a lime in half and chop up a bundle of cilantro (no idea what size or weight)

Meat and bean: Heat a pan to low-medium/medium heat, put in some oil and a pound of ground beef or chicken. Season with taco seasoning and let it cook. Stir it every now and again to break it up. Once the meat is almost cooked all the way, add in one drained can of black beans (15oz I think?) and season the meat and bean mix with onion and garlic powder. Cook until it looks like food.

Salsa: In a bowl mix a bag of thawed frozen corn (10ish oz.), a drained can of diced tomatoes and green chilies (also 10ish oz.), half of the chopped cilantro, and squeeze in the juice of half the lime. Season with salt and pepper.

Rice: Cook a cup and a half of rice, and once done mix with the rest of the cilantro and the juice from the other half of the lime.

Portion the meat/bean, salsa, and rice into 5 containers and top off with some shredded sharp white cheddar cheese.

This I might actually try. The southwest variation with chicken sounds really good.

My cantina had entrecote, sautéed mushrooms, and beer available for lunch. The great food compensates for the workplace drama stemming from a horrible work environment.

I work from home, btw

I have been making the same honey ham/turkey, salami, mayo, onions, lettuce, tomato sandwich for like 15 years all through college and into my work life. I just wait until I'm hungry to eat so I never get tired of it. Also probably autism.

I made a corn salad this week, but I've had it every day and it's Thursday. So, I feel like making fried rice.

I eat what I can afford with my pay... Nothing. Family eats first.

Going to stop at the farmers market and grab something

Had a fried egg sandwich with ham and cheese. Fruit pastry and a banana.

I wfh and I've got some ground turkey that really needs cooking. So I'm thinking I'll quick pickle a red onion and make a shawarma or something similar.

unemployed but when I worked honestly it just was happenstance. if there are leftovers I might take those. sometimes I saw a microwave thing at the store and picked it up to try it out and did so at work. sometimes I picked something up somewhere near work. I got into fasting and I would fast on tuesday/thurs or mon/wens/fri. I had no calorie liquids but no calories. I found work was good to keep busy and not notice not eating as much. Especially when you get your belly full with liquid. So would eat last monday night lets say and not eat again till wednesday morning.

I'll probably take some minced tomato and make tomato sauce, then add two jars of black beans and vegan cheese. Feel free to use regular mozzarella. Anyways stir until you get the liquid consistency you want, it will be delicious.

Sometimes I mash them to do something kinda but not really resembling refried beans (our beans naturally have so much more flavour than frijoles, we don't need so much spices).

Yesterday my dinner was pasta, remove all the water but a little, add Chinese curry powder and some curcuma, mix, add barbaque sauce, mix, eat. Fuck the haters it was delicious.

Minestrone soup straight from the can with crumbled ritz crackers sprinkled over the top. Fig newtons and a peach.

Snapdragon brand instant miso ramen, with a can of seltzer water and a slice of sourdough bread for the broth.

This was all thrown together with no real planning and after eating it I am stupefied I nearly ignored what I packed just to throw more of my paycheck away at the cafeteria!
