If you’re turning these down.. I hope you’ve got something better to live for

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

See, this is why I asked.

In my experience pizza <insert any food that isn't pizza> is always disappointing.

Pizza bagels? Not great.

Pizza sandwiches? Also meh.

Pizza soup? Haven't had it, but also probably not great.

Pizza pizza? That's a calzone.

I expect pizza tacos to be just as dissappointing

[–] FluorideMind@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Tf? Did this person just say pizza bagels aren't great?!

[–] mnemonicmonkeys@sh.itjust.works -1 points 6 days ago

Not everyone has to like what you like.

I stated my personal tastes regarding non-pizza pizzas, that is all.

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Pizza rolls >> rolls

[–] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 6 days ago

I’d use flatbread instead. Like the Gorditas that Taco Bell used to have in the 90s.

[–] solidheron@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

Ehhh looks way to greasy and fried to me and like a burn hazard

[–] Atomic@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

Meanwhile, every swede here going. Why are they showing pictures of Tacos from 2006 and calling them Pizza tacos?

Also, You all know these are really simple to make yourself right? Pretty much minimal skill required. If you know how to put minced meat in a pan and turn the heat on. You're pretty much halfway there. The other half includes knowing how to turn on an oven.

[–] aggelalex@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

... They look very easy to make at home. Just get leftover minced meat from your spaghetti, melt some mozzarella and pepperoni on top, olives, some pesto, all on a hardshell taco. Maybe even bake the taco shell with some cheese to make extra crust.

It looks like it would be extremely messy and no better tasting than regular pizza

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I would not take this over more traditional tacos.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

I'll try anything once

This feels like AI food porn

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I tried to pick ones that weren't AI, but I may have failed. I sincerely apologize if the images are AI. Sometimes I can't tell the difference.

Pizza isn't just about toppings. The crust reigns supreme... because the yeast culture adds a hint of sour. Also, have you ever had woodfired pizza? Nom nom.

And New York claims its pizza is amazing because of its water, or more likely its plumbing?

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 79 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Just get a pizza and also get tacos.

[–] linkinkampf19@lemmy.world 51 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I'm at the Pizza Hut, I'm at the Taco Bell... I'm at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

Sorry for the earworm.

This looks like the worst parts of a pizza and a taco mixed together, I'm sorry. It'd be crunchy in the wrong places and altogether too chewy.

[–] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

The grease from the cheese and pepperoni would obliterate the shell I think.( Source - am greasy Scicillian)

Perfect if you want to invite all your Mexican and Italian friends over and end the night in a shallow grave that they agree to never speak of again.

[–] Lon3star@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Looks like a fast lane through the digestive system

[–] lolrightythen@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

That or the opposite. Nothing in between

[–] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 24 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

The tacos will inevitably break too much after a few bites and everthing will start spilling on you, and it's your fucking fault for doing that.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is why I always go for a soft taco instead. Hard tacos want to be salad and will detonate into corn-chip shrapnel the instant you take that first bite, unmercifully dumping its contents onto the table and your lap in the process. I can't imagine eating one mess-free, unless equipped with a jaw that unhinges and a supernaturally flexible neck.

and will detonate into corn-chip shrapnel

MVP comment

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Sounds like a skill issue. Just unhinge your jaw like a snake and eat it in one bite like normal.

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

Guys it's just tacos with pepperoni on top.

What would be real solid is making like, chorizo pepperoni slices or something instead of the regular pepperoni

[–] neo2478@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 week ago (4 children)

The things that people from the US will eat, are beyond compression.

This is obviously Italian you idiot

[–] fishy@lemmy.today 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I'm from the US and this looks like absolute garbage to me, but I'd argue French tacos are an even worse food crime.

Have you heard of Norwegian tacos?

I get reflux just from looking at that.

I recently heard about and tried pizza beans. Just some kind of white bean (any white beans) cooked, and then you cover them in pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni and broil it until the cheese is melted and caramelized a bit.

Sounded weird as hell, and I thought the texture would be horrible but the beans actually just kinda gave the same texture you get with pizza dough. Not as crispy, obviously, but like a Detroit style crust.

I might do these tacos but I wouldn't use the hamburger. Personally, I don't like how ground beef goes with the other pizza ingredients (i don't like burger on an actual pizza either)... But maybe refried beans would be great.

Structurally and logistically there is no way that a shell transports pizza better than crust. Not to fault the 'tilla, just a different instrument for a different song

Why not dunk it in batter and deep fry it? Cholesterol, heart burn and clogged arteries in one go, get in there!

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 11 points 1 week ago (5 children)

They aren't as good as they look.
^They're^ ^better.^
