IT guy here, if this guy is telling the truth, he is dangerously incompetent.

If you get a notice that you bank account is breached, you don't wipe your phone, you simply get a new phone and turn off the old one so you have all the information on the phone that can aid you in identifying if and how your device was breached.

If I wanted to be charitable I would say incompetent, but I don't want to be charitable to this guy.
