Trump has betrayed literally everyone who has ever trusted him. His kids, his wives, his business partners, Epstein, everyone.

Two things about Trump made him the perfect Republican president, he'd betray anyone for his own interests, and he's easily manipulated.

Everyone who works for trump gets shit on. No Exceptions.

This scene from The Prisoner works especially well. Baffoon megalomaniac leader and brainless moron followers. It works even better when you consider that the original script called for "little Hitlers"

Star Trek isn’t a good analogy for the Trump admin. Mamdani admin, sure.

Star Trek is a universe that evolved past money. The prime directive is non-interference.

Mirror universe, certainly. Pretty sure that's where we are right now.

First thought this was going to be about the press passengers on decoy Air Force One.

All presidential vehicles get fancy names so what are we calling the food cart? Burger 1?

They don't care. It's all political theater. They'll fall on the sword one by one while becoming more wealthy and powerful along the way.

For a brief moment I mistook Jena Pirrino for Kamala Harris and thought this was going for a really deep-cut conspiracy theory.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 3 weeks ago

she does look like harris, except shes drinks alot.

Yeah but all of these people would be failures if they didn’t take the job.

It’s almost like the sunken cost fallacy.

You start with nothing (or sometimes far less than nothing if we take the orange + Putin’s situation into account)

Then you get offered a position of power beyond your wildest dreams.

Then it gets harder and harder as the person who put you there keeps demanding more and more. Eventually they will probably use you as a scapegoat so now your worse off then ever.
