Bev Craig, who succeeded Andy Burnham as Greater Manchester Mayor last month, was twice asked whether she would back Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) 'guidance' recommending that trans people use either gender-neutral facilities or those corresponding to their sex assigned at birth. According to reports, she stopped short of giving a direct commitment. ...
Asked again whether she intended to introduce the measures, Craig replied that her focus was on understanding what, if anything, would need to change from current arrangements. She also stressed that she would not be policing who uses public toilets, remarking that she would not be "checking people's bits on the way into the toilet".

For fucks sake, just let people use whatever ever toilet they’re comfortable with and get on with something more constructive. Too many people are trying to accumulate rage points.

There’s probably more people accidentally using the “wrong” toilets every day anyway. This is a non-issue.

I’m glad I’m an ideology to be debated, instead of a real fucking being. That way, I can be dismissed and shoved to the back of someone’s mind.

'Trans ideology' also called basic human rights, is certainly something to focus on. Simply because a group is a minority, does not justify ignoring their needs.

As the article also states

Craig has previously spoken out in support of LGBTQ+ rights. During her mayoral campaign, she said she had spent her career fighting for LGBTQ+ equality and insisted it was possible to support both women's services and trans communities without "throwing our trans communities under the bus".

LGBTQ+ peoples are 7% of the population, luckily Bev Craig doesn't ignore them or dismiss it as a 'fringe ideology' like some right wing twat.

Where did you get the 7% figure from? I thought gay people make up 2%, i don't see rest of the spectrum making another 5%.

You'd probably like to know major quickly deflected it by saying she's not checking everyone's private parts. She's not a weirdo to indulge in invented problems and waste time. Trans people are just people and "trans ideology" is the one that demonizes them 24/7 while surprising amount of people wouldn't otherwise have any opinion about what they do and get all worked up about that.
