This seems like they actually have some worse surveillance system they are hiding and are using flock kind of as a parallel construction tool. Which isn't what I get from the author and seems more important to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. The feds are already busy cooking more weirdo shit.

I read an article where they were doing trials for reaper style drones that just circled big cities like LA and NYC. Whenever there was a crime, they'd rewind the footage and try to find where they came from. As in, they'd follow the suspects from the scene to whatever place the vehicle came from.

One of the core memories I have is when I have absolutely fell in love with Watch Dogs 2 during my college years. The way how they mixed street art and hacktivism was amazing, especially because hackers usually don't really have a style - and the glitchart (or however is the style called) style of videos was simply stunning.

It made me reconsider my career. I was studying software engineering with a plan to go to gamedev, and have eventually just picked up one optional ethical hacking course and got really into CTFs and pentesting, eventually landing a job in that field. My poser justification was that if shit hits the fan, I want to be ready to help with a modern kind of resistance.

While my young poser self was convinced and determined that's why I'm doing it, I... did not expect it will come to literally that. Like, what they are planning with AI crime prevention is literally THE plot of Watch Dogs.

Welp, I guess it's time to finally learn parkour (safely with a laptop on your back, of course) and whip out spray cans.

I'm not very good at gaming but I will definitely add Watch Dogs 2 to my list of things to check out.

I wish I could parkour with some spray paint without worrying about back pain.
