Anyone using tesseract is seeing posts from like seven people lmao.

[โ€“] MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Poor souls. Only seeing a bunch of posts from @admiralpatrick@lemmy.world talking about how they love the smell of their own farts and scolding them for not appreciating the aroma.

[โ€“] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Where the hell is everybody... This place is dead..."

  • Tesseract users (most likely)
[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No wonder we haven't been getting the uptake we hoped

Couldn't have helped. Yhst list was fucking long. XD

[โ€“] Janx@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago

Seven right-wing people, at that. Might as well just use Xitter at that point...

[โ€“] stoy@lemmy.zip 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The whole thing is so dumb, the feddiverse is still so small that arbitrary restricting content from users as well as preventing users and even admins from managing or even knowing about the blocklist is a sure way to get people to stop using your software.

Whoever made this decision is clearly an idiot.

[โ€“] Pogogunner@sopuli.xyz 30 points 1 week ago

You don't understand, clearly secret blacklists are the way to keep normies! It's not like creating your own blocklists is a core feature of the fediverse or anything

[โ€“] human@slrpnk.net 29 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Maybe I can get picked up in the wild.

Fuck fascists!

[โ€“] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I read somewhere it was blocking people who used the word "perchance" among other things.

[โ€“] human@slrpnk.net 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

In that case I'll say fuck fascists perchance they might fuck off.

Good luck with that.

I found a bit more info that may help on what it's blocking (or attempting to) in this post. https://old.lemmy.ca/post/68374360

[โ€“] dabster291@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

I too believe that any and all individuals who happen to hold the ideals commonly associated with the fascist movement should promptly have intercourse with every living member of the Cactaceae family forthwith.

[โ€“] Deme@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 week ago

I think I'll test this theory. I also agree that fascists should perchance go fuck themselves.

[โ€“] helios@social.ggbox.fr 8 points 1 week ago

Wow dude, chill! Think of the normies you're scaring away! ๐Ÿ˜…

[โ€“] pmk@piefed.ca 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Idea: what if a community formed where only the people blocked by tesseract could post, just to see what it would be like there?

[โ€“] Buage_@piefed.social 9 points 1 week ago

Genius idea ngl

[โ€“] Even_Adder@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The list is still being updated?

[โ€“] Buage_@piefed.social 28 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Apparently ! I just had to DM the dev and ask him to add me

I didn't get any reply, but I am now there !

[โ€“] Even_Adder@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago

That means I still got a shot.

[โ€“] Marthirial@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But you didn't call him a fragile little bitch so you didn't go into the regex list as well.

[โ€“] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It also means you just got banned from a bunch of random communities.

[โ€“] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wait is it still growing? Are people actually using this thing?

[โ€“] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Eh, it's a decent client. I've moved my self hosted instance from the upstream docker image to a build from source with the blocklist and other "Acceptable Use Policy" bullshit removed. Life uh, forks a way.

But yeah, if you're using an instance with the upstream image you are unknowingly missing out on a whole part of Lemmy beyond what your instance admins have decided

[โ€“] notsure@fedia.io 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

...but did you make the regex list?

[โ€“] Buage_@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago

Sadly, no ๐Ÿ˜ญ

[โ€“] Ramsesder13te@feddit.org 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

This list seems to be the Lemmy version of karma...

[โ€“] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[โ€“] Buage_@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Here is the file I downloaded : https://h.uguu.se/zJjePrhO.json

You can run this command to get the latest version :

curl -s https://tesseract.dubvee.org/tesseract/api/system/policy \
  | base64 -d | gunzip > policy.json
[โ€“] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yuhuu I'm there! Do you think they manually selected us or was it a bot? It'd require some effort to manually check that each of these accounts goes against their opinion...

[โ€“] Buage_@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Pretty sure its manual and automatic at the same time, but I think this post will explain better than me : https://lemmy.world/post/49778353

[โ€“] No_Eponym@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I made the list! One of only 19 lemmy.ca ~~folks~~ comrades!

I think this is the most exclusive group I've ever been included in!

[โ€“] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[โ€“] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

It worked, the guy you're responding to was hosting it himself for 3 hours

I need to step up my game

[โ€“] xSikes@feddit.online 2 points 1 week ago

Uh, luckyโ€ฆโ€ฆ
