Why are Israel issues more relevant than domestic issues affecting millions of Americans?

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because of legal foreign bribery.

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

to add to this;

The Israel lobby (AIPAC) is funneling Billions of American Tax funds (and European probably as well) to Zionist Conquest Doctrine. These are funds that were/are already being mismanaged through political grifts and corruption, so the fact that it's going toward a repugnant and quite frankly frivolous war of aggression, that is not only threatening to bankrupt not just America but collapse the entire world economic order, I feel it might be a bit of a solid stance to be in opposition to shitheads that support Israel's actions right now.

"Hot take," I know.

"BuT iRaN mIgHt GeT nUuUuUuUkEs!1!!!1!!!!"

At his point I say we should just GIVE them Nukes. FFS, Quit trying to invade Persia!!

Who cares, he votes for the Republican talking points most of the time anyway. Grow a spine already and make it official.

What he wants is the party to cross the made up line he has drawn in the sand so he can switch affiliation “guilt free” and be able to say “ look they made me do it” when pressed about it.

Senator John Fetterman of the State of Israel demands recognition.

The fact senior US statesmen continue to offer loyalty to a different sovereign state makes you a laughingstock.

[–] savvie@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

Please do, Senator Notabetterman

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Hey, since you're going outside, can you take the trash (other D.I.N.O.s) out with you? MKThXBai!

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 25 points 1 day ago

Why wait? Just fuck off already.

One more reason to oppose Israel. Not that even more reasons are necessary.

Compromised politician

[–] Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

He brings no benefit to the people of Pennsylvania or the democratic party. Bye Felicia.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

help him gtfo now

Go away, nobody likes you.

Stroke made you evil.

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago (4 children)

So his threat is basically that he'll likely ruin his chances of holding office ever again if the party doesn't do what he wants? What a weird flex.

[–] mic_check_one_two@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He’s currently polling at ~19% approval among Pennsylvania democrats, but ~80% with republicans. So if he sticks with democrat party, he has basically no chance of getting reelected. But republicans tend to do a little better in Pennsylvania (or at least, they used to, but Donny’s current term may have changed that,) so he could have a shot at winning reelection if he switches to Republican. Especially since Republicans love “I used to be a Democrat then I got some common sense” types of stories. He could ham it up for republican voters, and would likely do pretty well if he could convince them he has truly switched sides.

The sooner he fucks off the better.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

He's functionally a Republican anyway. Why spend Dem party campaign mpney on him?

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 day ago

How would that change anything?

Also, interesting way of saying that you are an agent of another country

He's been tarnishing the Democrat brand since he arrived.

This MAGA hack needs to be kicked out yesterday and let him caucus with the lunatic right which he loves so much.

Bye 👋 He's essentially a Republican anyhow.

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 71 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Man. Brain damage did a number of him. Gabby Gifford was shot in the head and didn't turn conservative

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 24 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Because he was already a shitbags before his stroke. The stroke just made it harder for him to hide his power level.

Fetterman was just a rich kid who's daddy's money has backed his entire career. His dad is the owner and CEO of an insurance company and is a long time big Republican donor. Fettermans entire career has been faking blue collar credentials while being an asshole contrarian.

When he was mayor he raised prices for locals by turning his town into a vacation town for his rich friends. He also held a random black jogger at gun point because he suspected him of doing a crime. His constituents and coworkers hated him.

As Lt governor he barely showed up to work and missed one third of the mandatory state Senate sessions he was supposed to oversee. The guy has always been a lazy asshole, the stroke just made it come to the surface.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've seen comments from people in his constituency that said the stroke didnt change shit, that he's always been a piece of shit, even before he was in public office.

It doesn't have to become anti-Israel, just anti-genocide. Would that be a deal-breaker for him? (I wouldn't nind seeing him replaced anyway.)

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Shame that stroke wasn’t more severe

this is why there needs to be a recall mechanism for congress and senators. Dude ran as a Democrat and is now saying "haha, Ima go be a republican now" and all the people who voted for him can do nothing for 6 fucking years.

Fetterman’s approval ratings in Pennsylvania have fallen to a dismal 19% among Democrats, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday. That would make it extremely difficult for him to win a Democratic primary if he opts to run for re-election in 2028. His approval rating among Republicans was 77% in the poll, although it’s far from clear whether they would vote for him.

Lol yeah, he has been a DINO for a long time. He co-opted the democrat party to get elected, but never intended to follow party lines. He has pretty consistently voted with Republicans on key issues.

[–] TehWorld@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

It’s debatable whether the stroke caused him to swing conservative, or if he was always a lying asshole. Not that there’s a difference.

Good. Don't let the door hit your back on the way out.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Who cares what this assbag will do. We know he had a incident (a stroke) where he finally realized he was gonna die one day. Most of us become more human when we face a possibility of death. He had one and became less human.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 days ago

Sounds like a win/win to me.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

I mean the party has really already left him. No sane person who calls themselves a member of the Democratic party would consider him viable.
