Im not gonna do it. If I didnt have a support network and family though, Id be feeling it.

struggling to cope with both micro and macro ...sadness in humanity.

Im tired of coping today. Im crying every 15 mins.

I did go to my art therapy group this morning, and felt a little better. Only to come on here and see.. what my country is doing.

Being human is a curse.

gonna go to my dr appt in a minute, and then make my favorite leek soup, or ask my husband to handle dinner so I can be a puddle on the floor.

Nearly 40 years on this earth. Today, feels like too much.

Me too friend.

Simultaneously exhausted by the world at large and let down by my own little corner of the world. Definitely had worse days emotionally and materially than I am now but whoof, this weeks been getting me. The collective apathy, the learned helplessness, the willful ignorance.. shit wears me down 😮‍💨

I don’t have therapy, but I made myself a tasty coffee this morning and have been bumping good tunes all day trying to stay above the line. Whatever helps lol

I’m glad husband is there for you, I hope you’re able to find the little things that make you feel full and alive today. It’s bleak out there but there is love and beauty and good things out there too 🫶

I wish that were me, but I don't bloom. And even if I do, I'll be the last to know.

Only to come on here and see… what my country is doing.

Don't let the bastards of the world do this to you. Go out today and inject some kindness back into the world even in the smallest of ways:

  • buy socks and give them to a homeless person
  • interact with someone in a service industry face-to-face and genuinely tell them how much you appreciate what they do and that they helped you today
  • pick up a piece of trash on the ground and dispose of it properly
  • even just hold the door open for someone else

All of these things and more make you a force of good. Sometimes it is very hard to do this for ourselves, but it can be easier to do for others. You don't need to move mountains, for each of us individually even the smallest pebble is enough. You can look behind you as see the positive ripple effects from your actions. Be a reason the world is a better place today than it was yesterday because YOU are in it.

I am so proud of you. I'm just a nobody on the internet, but I am. You should be, too! Look at all the strategies you are employing, all the things you are doing for your well-being! That's strength. And wisdom. Give yourself, not some, but LOADS of credit. 🩷🩵🤍

These past two weeks, I have been wanting to cease to exist. I just wrote to my local clinic about it. Not sure what to expect, but I don't know what else to do. Which is to say, you are not alone. The world is fucked up. It's only natural that we feel weighed down by all the shit.

Yall are so sweet <3

its always good to reach out, thank you for being a light in the darkeness :)

I hope things ease for you too, take care out there

You’re not alone, it’s okay to turn off the news and noise if you’re able.

I hope your leek soup is good, or at least that being a puddle is cathartic and you feel better after.

Ugghhh yeah this depressingly stupid regime is just the worst. 😭 I'm glad you have art and leeks and husband to help make it through the day!

If you have special interests i'd love to hear all about it!

I know how you feel, sometimes life gets us down, but remember that nothing bad lasts forever.

Sending you virtual hugs.

I'm done, as well. Thank you for sharing. It feels better to not be alone.

Maybe tomorrow we'll be better, I hope.

I feel you. Yes, yes it is.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

The feeling will pass. I wish you well.

yeah I have a doctors appointment thursday but man its so meta. I can't see the specialist I want to because of the way this country runs which feeds into a depression that im going to see a doctor about. Im not sure I want to take medication if they suggest it and my wife is worried about that and is against it. I completely get it to as I know medication for the brain can have bad effects cognitively and I am looking for work which depends on high congnitive ability. ugh. I feel a bit bad for you and others who are younger because im not sure any of you will have the perspective of better normal times. Whenever I say this people will point to all sorts of things bad with the time period but the thing is before reagan we generally were on an improvement journey which slowed under him to the point it stopped in the new millenium and started going backwards.
