You ever get the feeling someone is testing your sanity?

Asking for a friend

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Every day for the past decade. Why?

It'll be 45.47 per gallon soon with Republican incompetence.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 111 points 1 day ago (20 children)

Wow. That's really fucking stupid.

How about 2.47? 2nd term 47th prez?

Or how about 1.47? Only 1 man could be 47th?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

How about 47c?

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 10 points 1 day ago

How about prices lower than 18 because that's what he likes, anything below 18.

Now we're cooking with fire.

Yup, they published a list of 25 gas stations offering the lower prices and apparently none of them actually existed.

EDIT: I need to clarify because I don't want to be responsible for misinformation. That info came from a YouTube channel that quoted a woman on Tik Tok who said she checked the first five locations on the list and they weren't gas stations. I checked the first five locations with a quick Google maps search and they were ALL gas stations. So I think she was spreading lies. I then check all 25 and one was an apartment complex. But that could be a Google maps thing.

There's still a lot wrong with this whole freedom fuel thing but that's not one of them. Apologies.

Trump promised $2/gal gas on "day one". Where is the $2 gas?

[–] xistera@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Which is funny because gas is pretty much (at least in my area) exactly $2 more per gallon than it was before his inauguration.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Maybe he was always saying "2 dollars (more)" in his head the whole time...

[–] mr_account@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

On any given day, a 2 has a pretty good chance of being somewhere on a fuel price sign

The spokesperson said the Trump administration is not involved with the company and is not subsidizing the gas stations, adding that the stations can offer lower prices by reducing their profit margins.

Yes, because famously gas stations make a ton of money on gas sales... pull someone else's leg, mine is long enough already.

"Thanks, Trump, for saving me some money," said a customer based in Philadelphia, where the state average for a gallon of gasoline is $3.98.

So which is true? If Trump and/or the government have nothing to do with it, then IDK, maybe thank whoever is choosing to take a loss selling gasoline below market price. If it is Trump and/or the government, then why is this company saying that it isn't being subsidized?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago

The spokesperson said the Trump administration is not involved with the company

Bullshit. These stations are in his pocket

https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/freedom-fuel-gas-station-linked-181004904.html

According to GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan, the "Freedom Fuel Network" was registered on June 23, 2026, to Corporation Trust Company, a registered agent that has previously been used by Trump-related entities.

It wouldn't surprise me if he managed to cut his buddies a sweet deal for Venezuelan oil, and this is how they are repaying him

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

They'll sell at a loss to get the President to advertise for them on TV

In a week they'll be the same price, in a month they'll be higher due to idiot tax.

They want people to make their gas station their personality, and trumpets are dumb enough to do it.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Next week the magats will be going out of their way to buy "freedom gas" from this station for $4.47 /gal, and they'll do it with all the smugness and arrogance they can muster

Imagine if Dems did this. They'd call it communism, lol. Central planning, price controls, etc.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

Let me chew on some of this Trump Popkorn, real korn for real males.

[–] Ariselas@piefed.ca 36 points 1 day ago (4 children)

But it costs a total of $86.47 to fill your tank

I don't understand.

Why is trump so good at helping Cuba become oil free and using 100% renewable energy while he insists the US keeps using Oil and destroys offshore wind projects at home?

Trump, please treat US more like Cuba.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago

The spokesperson said the Trump administration does not own, fund, or subsidize the business.

I believe them because they are known to be very honest

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

So the Freedom Fuel Network, as a "private company" just decided to do this on their own? For the good of society? And happened to price a gallon at $3.47 for the president?

They’re not selling gasoline, they’re selling the experience of living in an alternate reality.

3.47

4.47

5.47....

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Since they're MAGA, I'm just gonna assume the ratio of this fuel price to normal fuel prices is equal to the ratio of water added.

[–] kinsnik@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nah, it is trump; it is probably more water than that

*With purchase of 20 dollar gas station hot dog. /s

[–] sns@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 day ago

And it's only 47% water (salt water).

I’ll call it right here : this will be a scam. They’ll ask for a monthly subscription card and never deliver

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 day ago

i'd pay eighty-three dollars more per gallon, and fill up the tank, if.. ya know.......
