Why should my tax dollars go to funding your private security? Quit leeching off of us, asking for handouts all the time like a lazy socialist. Pay for your own security if it's so important to you.

You joke but most of central PA relies on state police because they can't/won't pay themselves. As a result the state police raids the transportation budget and everyone in the cities have potholes and shitty mass transit.

The irony in that that's exactly what your tax dollars do when they fund the police. They are the guard dogs of capital.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That was sort of my point lol. It was a leading question that can only be answered with that answer.

I know quite a few bootlickers who would disagree with the sentiment. Not to say you are one, of course.

Yeah, I'd only ever been to Hebron, Kentucky

[–] arctanthrope@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I only know Hebron, Indiana

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Hold up. Is there a state in here that doesn't have a Hebron?

You think there are 49 states? Which one got demoted?

[–] AresUII@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Sry, overlooked that Missouri had 3

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

~~I counted twenty states with a Hebron.~~

OK, recounted, 18 Hebrons it is.

[–] justaman123@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, I only know Hebron, Hyrule

Thank God the Obama store and Biden stores are both still open! It would be weird if only one presidential merch store existed.

The first thing I did was check the sign for errors. They never disappoint!

It's extra funny because it's way out in Hick County, and pretty solidly Republican.

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

So what do they sell there, gold plated Depends undergarments?

I saw a post that was probably fake but still funny. It looked like a screenshot from Chicago Police department post saying

"we will no longer be arresting people for urinating on the trump building downtown. There are too many and we have more important matters to attend to".

Probably not real but who knows. ..Chicago.

I like to imagine it's real.

At least this image probably is real.

Idk. Reminder me of the police post for some reason.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The urinating on Trump's monstrosity is probably fake. The CPD is crooked as hell and as bad as the rest of the cops out there. Worse, really, their Union is basically a shadow government.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I never had any bad experience with the cops there. I went to protests. The big ones and one at a Tesla store. Cops were nice. Pleasant even.

Where I'm from in rural Illinois, cops here primarily ride around or park looking for people to give driving tickets too or to harass.

The more rural, the smaller the area, the worse the cops are- in my experience.

Ive had some really unpleasant encounters with rural cops.

Insisting on searching my vehicle. Threatening me.

Mind you , I'm a white woman. So you can only imagine how they treat anyone else.
