JD Power: the most biased source I can think of for car awards.

Tbf German cars made in US have not been known for quality from what I recall reading over the years. At least people usually recommended avoiding certain models and going for other imported ones. Perhaps the US brands are less prone to failures because more parts or while models are made in Mexico/Canada and then just assembled in US.
Would be interesting if someone who knows more about specific models and parts could chime in.

Tech breaks before mechanics: CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity is the industry’s #1 problem three years running.

This “reliability” chart is a joke.

True, but modern cars are a joke.

Ain't that the truth. I'm a tech guy and a car guy but the shit they're selling now makes both sides of me disappointed. The tech is predatory advertiser first slop and the vehicles themselves keep getting fatter and use parts that only work for the warranty period.

The mini isn't British anymore, not for a long time.

Fewer chances to have issues when you only make 5 cars a year.

What car reliability chart in the world has Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet up near the top????

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

A bit surprised that Chevy is so high on the list.

My first car was a VW Rabbit. Great car.

Worse car ever. VW ID.4. Never again.

Let me guess: software issues?

90% software. 10% local dealer.
