The crowd at the bar continued to go about their lives, seemingly unaware that the person sitting alone with an oil lamp did not, indeed, suffer a stroke... but was frozen in time.
Days went by, and the person at the table became a curiosity. They did not die of thirst after 3 days. They did not starve after 3 weeks. They did not breathe. Their hair did not grow, nor their nails.
Months went by. The dust wasn't a problem because it had become almost a tradition upon bar patrons to rub or grind upon the frozen sitter.
