Is anyone surprised? We constantly get the rhetoric that NASA was inefficient and that private space companies would make a better product, cheaper. NASA was never designed for commercial applications, and now we have BO and SpaceX blowing bits all over the Gulf of America on the taxpayer's dime. Meanwhile...why do we need to go to the moon, again?

General off-topic chat for the crew of startrek.website. Trek-adjacent discussions, other sci-fi television, navigating the Fediverse, server meta (within reason), selling expired cases of Yamok sauce, it’s all fair game.

Not surprised. Still disappointed.
But if I may answer your hypothetical question "why" in the words of Jim Kirk... because it is there.
Didn't blue organ have to sue just to get the contract in the first place? I remember reading how NASA was not going to give it to them because of how behind they were from the bench marks.
