I once wrote a very, very disrespectful post about Rod, Jane and Freddy that suggested a lot stuff that I am very, very ashamed of in hindsight.

Because the day after I posted it, I found out Freddy (Marks) had died two days before. And so I subsequently wrote an apology post, and removed the original post because as much as I am a fan of free speech, I am also a fan of doing the right thing.

Wait until they find out it didn't happen on 9/10/01.

The universe Garfield lives in is exactly the same as ours except for the fact that it's one day ahead

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

Of course he had to collapse the towers on a Monday!

I hate to point out the obvious, but if he's being suspected of bringing down the twin towers a day before it actually happened, the logic doesn't quite align. Remind me never to include any of you in a judge or jury situation.

Who are Rod & Jane & Freddy?

[–] fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

They used to sing songs on 1980s British Children's TV programme Rainbow.

Rod, Jane and Freddy (wiki)

[Edit] I kind of want to know what the Rod, Jane and Freddy post was now

holy hell who did Freddy's wardrobe?

no really i would like to know some of their sources. like, men's clothing today is so boring and that's what i wear on stage. i've been doing my own wardrobe for the last 24 years and could use a couple new sources. i know two interesting mainstream sources and they are too expensive for my blood

On TV at least, the three of them always (to my memory) had matching or themed costumes, so I imagine it was supplied by the TV Programme - unless they made them themselves?

  • unless they made them themselves?

the musician way! only way to get shit that looks good at every gig is to bring it yourself. my latest aquisition is a jacket so bright i don't need stage lighting. i just have to add some personality.

Either I'm surprised you don't know or I'm surprised your the only person to ask :)

They are a trio of performers who appeared on a kids show called Rainbow back when I was a child (which was a very, very long time go).

[–] JennaR8r@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 weeks ago

Thank you. Now we want to know about the "very very disrespectful" post you wrote about them.

SAG-AFRA were so offended by the voices he used during his book reading, they all went on strike for six weeks.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

when they came back they were SAG-AFTRA. the T was for Time To Use Better Voices George Dubya and it still is to this day.

Uh, yeah, I lived in New York on 9/11, and classes were cancelled. Which was a day after 9/10, so I still don't get it.

[–] kn33@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago
