This is pretty cool tech! However I wonder what is going on with their proofreading - there are typos and double words in the article. How does this slip through in a company like Time?

AI did its own proofreading, and found nothing wrong with itself.

Mistakes like this are proof it wasn't written by AI

[–] gandalf_der_12te@feddit.org 3 points 3 days ago

wait for AI to copy the the double words

[–] inari@piefed.zip 14 points 3 days ago

Maybe they fired the proofreaders

Only so long until we can combine a T-Rex with laser guns.

Life uh, finds a way

It is dangerous to go alone. Take this:

[–] yuman@programming.dev 13 points 3 days ago

let's get some pterodactyls going up in here, there's way too many of us causing too much trouble

Have we all forgotten what happened in Jurassic Park?

Yeah, they didn't pay the one sysadmin enough

Spared no expense, except for IT. Biggest mistake you can make.

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 12 points 3 days ago

Where the film lost a significant message of the books. He did spare a lot of the expense :D

You never need to pay the IT guy.

Everything just works? Why do we need to pay you?

Everything just borked out of nowhere? What are we paying you for?

The franchise has shown over the years that dinosaurs prefer to eat corporate executives and animal abusers. It is also clear that children are safer alone with dinosaurs than with Trump.

In a world plagued by too much carbon in it's atmosphere, scientists develope a novel way of introducing more carbon to the atmosphere.

i literally had this discussion like a week ago on lemmy where i argued that extinct animals can be brought back to life with genetic engineering techniques.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

If we had any genetic material of dinos, we wouldn't have to guess from fossilized remains.

But then it's not the same animal so it is not brought back. Like the dire wolf they brought back something that looks like one.

They are going to make Deathclaws, with feathers.
