Trump’s lately been boasting about the number of cognitive tests his doctors ask him to complete. The test, called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), is intended to suss out dementia-linked cognitive decline.

“I’ve taken three,” Trump boasted earlier this month, two days after the first of his two unscheduled-but-scheduled offsite dentist appointments in Palm Beach. “No president, think of this, has ever taken one.”

I've said for years that the fact that he keeps bragging about his high performance on his cognitive tests is, itself, a sign. Yes, Donnie, there's a reason why they give you so many, and it's not because of your Big Brain....

“No president, think of this, has ever taken one.”

He thinks this is a good thing! This is solid gold humor

The man is bragging about having worse dementia than fucking Reagan…

[–] JustRalph@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

I dont remember fucking Reagan.. Must be my dementia.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It’s funny cause it’s true.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 7 points 6 days ago (3 children)

You want to know what's funny? That this fucking crumpled ballsack of a man will soon be dead.

I find that extremely soothing to think about at night.

[–] bridgeburner@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Nah, unfortunately those gigantic POSs always live the longest for some fckn reason.

Yeah, the quiet part of his bragging is that they don’t ask you to do those tests unless they suspect you have dementia. The tests are a diagnostic tool, not a prophylactic.

It’s like saying “nah I’m not worried about cancer! My doctor keeps asking me to come in for more imaging tests. I had four MRI scans this month already, so I know I’m fine!” Why do you think those imaging tests were ordered? It’s not because your doctor thought you were healthy.

I was super confused at first because I'm used to MoCA standing for "Multimedia over Coax Alliance."

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 5 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Look I don't know what this is about, but I want to fucking sign up for this alliance of yours.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

It's an alliance dedicated to leveraging existing coax cable runs as alternatives to Ethernet.

His mental health is fine! He even knows the difference between "see" and "sea!"

At the 34:50 mark, if the link doesn't work

He's just shopping around for a new dentist now that his favorite one has closed.

[–] Adulated_Aspersion@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Upvoting for wry humor.

However, I want to say something:

The Island Dentist Room: Medical Facility on Little St. James

Could it be used to alter dental records as part of an effort to subvert identification methods on people?

It's because he's always lying through his teeth. It's very acidic and ruins the enamel.

Why won't you just go to hell where you belong old man?

[–] Zier@fedia.io 10 points 6 days ago

Because Satan is blockading the gates and refuses to let him enter until all the Epstein files are released.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 21 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

The White House has its own dental suite, so it's unclear why Trump would schedule appointments elsewhere.

President Donald Trump will visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26 for his annual dental and medical evaluation ― the third time he’s been to a dentist this year, and the second time just this month.

Goddamn. Does no one remember this guy

Or this guy

Or this fuckin guy

Trump’s statements on his health in general, (notably nothing on his family history of dementia) has always been bullshit. Always. You people thinking “well maybe he’s telling the truth because dentist” are freaking me out.

I have 3 a year, this article is dumb.

Release the Trumpstein files.

The assassination attempts were staged.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 15 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I dunno, an amphetamine taking McDonald’s eating 80 year old needing their teeth looked after is not surprising.

I’m more worried his jello brain.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Those are barely even his teeth. He’s had veneers for 30 years. https://www.mysmilefinder.com/celebrities/donald-trump

Ridiculous site but has pics of his original teeth + changes through the years and breathless AI wording of how good his ‘full-mouth reconstruction’ is.

People with dementia often have trouble with grooming habits. Like brushing teeth. Showering. Trimming nails. Wearing deodorant . Shaving. Etc.

They just forget.

Bet he's getting dental problems due to his dementia.

There are so many reasons someone might have to go see a dentist. As much as I like to trash on Trump, this is a non-story.

ETA: Never mind, it's pretty clear that this is a smoke screen for something else going on.

He's not going to a dentist. He's going to a neurologist because he has dementia and is losing his mind.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago

Surely lots of dentists order MRIs for their patients. /s

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

To be fair, anyone with elderly parents will tell you, multiple dental visits a year is normal. Bridges, implants, dentures, etc.

He’s an 80 year old man who bathes his teeth in a dozen diet cokes a day.

Folk wisdom is cute, but this borders on willful ignorance.

He’s an 80 year old man who bathes his teeth in a dozen diet cokes a day.

And we can all see that his fake-ass, extensively capped and veneered teeth, aren't showing signs of phosphoric acid damage. And that kind of damage doesn't happen in the span of a year, let alone needing to be addressed multiple times in one year.

Just because you can think of a reasonable explanation doesn't mean it's the most reasonable or likely explanation in this case.

Trump likely had a stroke about a year ago. He disappeared for a bit and came back with some droop to one side of his face and he walks favoring one leg. He's been going to the doctor for MRIs so they can track how fettermaned his brain is. So his dentist appointments are MRIs. They been giving him so many cognitive tests right now and in such a short period of time to evaluate his active cognition regardless of the brain damage they see in the MRIs.

That he is using the dentist as cover for medical treatments he is hiding. That might have nothing to do with dentistry.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago

If I recall correctly, that's how the "tween" visits were pulled off when it was just him and epstein controlling the sex biz.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Dentist? Or illegal drug supplier?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago

He just confuses Dental doctor and Mental doctor. Not surprising, given his state...

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 8 points 6 days ago (2 children)

He pay out of pocket for a third routine dental appointment in a year like we do?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 days ago

He loves gold, and will have golden dentures. Not even kidding, that is just the Trumpian way of being.
