“When you’re negotiating with Iran, Mr. President, to what extent are Americans’ financial situations motivating you to make a deal?” a reporter asked Trump before he left for China on Tuesday, alluding to the skyrocketing inflation caused by the fallout from the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and Lebanon.

“Not even a little bit,” Trump said, shockingly out of touch even for him.

This was obvious since at least the 1980s.

For anyone even paying the slightest bit of attention.

We already knew that. At least dementia donnie can't hold back the truth any longer.

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 186 points 1 day ago (7 children)

At this point the problem isn't him. The problem is the people keeping him in charge and refusing to depose him. He's a sundowing old pedo that they refuse to do anything about.

[–] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 86 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I've been saying for a while until we get rid of Peter Thiel and the other Epstein class members things won't get better. Trump is a symptom not the problem. It'll be cathartic setting him gone but it won't fix things.

[–] Domino@quokk.au 19 points 1 day ago (3 children)

You won’t get rid of those people under the current system. You will need a revolution before the capitalist owner class is touchable.

When this is over, we have to purge MAGA from our government and our society, and reconfigure our country so that the wealthy understand that they keep their fortunes at the pleasure of the Citizens, and that fortune is required to serve the Citizens. The moment their priority shifts to increasing profit at the expense of the Citizens, their entire fortune is confiscated, their corporations nationalized, and they are imprisoned.

We do not work for them, they work for us.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago

He is a problem. But he's the face of a bigger problem. But he's still a problem.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The people in power are also all the voters who see this behaviour, who see the obvious lies(even for them in their echo chambers it’s hard to miss some of this), and who continue to support not only him, but conservatism in general. It has never worked, yet they keep saying “ok, so once again it is conservatism that has produced this loser but he’s not a real conservative so I’m gunna keep supporting the POS factory.”

We can argue about the racism, the sexism, the classism, and all that for a real long time but ultimately a few evil people won’t last against a population that actually cares and a few caring people won’t last against a population that allows themselves to be duped by obvious racism, sexism, etc.

The GOP, for all their evil and election fraud, still would not win a single election if the people of the US said “no.”

The whole system needs an overhaul. There's no way to trust the system anymore

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I mean when he still has 44% approval ratings, half of America or more is to blame.

It's just insane.

Exactly. Find the person in the chain that wants to live. Flip them. Then seriously, about 5-15k people need to be executed for treason. Were beyond the 'lEtS m00vE fOWrd' phase.

Let's have justice. Let us practice justice. Let us execute justice, or there will never be peace

Exactly, he's a symptom of the disease. There's always gonna be some crazy old man yelling racist sexist things, that's never gonna change, dementia will keep producing that. The choice is whether we make that person POTUS or not

[–] iocase@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think calling him sundowning is attributing his malice instead to old age.

He's a line-upping old pedo. He has "insider trading syndrome" which on the surface appears like dementia...

And his base still believes he cares and will fight each other to change his diaper.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Trump only cares about Trump. The only possible exception to that is his complete and abject servility to Putin.

[–] Clutter@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Point I always make to people who do not believe this: it does not matter if he officially works for him or not..

Result is the exact same. He's just not getting paid for it by Putin. Soooo.. bad deal.... :-)

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 56 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Malignant narcissists don't give a crap about anyone else anyway, but as long as Trump can change the subject from the fact he's a child rapist and avoid releasing the Epstein files he's happy as a clam.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are clams really happy tho?

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They are always smiling...

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

They are - but only if you look down on them.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

"He's just trolling the media, he actually deeply cares about me."

  • MAGA cultists
[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 41 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The only thing he has EVER cared about is getting his own rocks off. Be it raping children or robbing people blind, if you have EVER thought he gives even a fraction of a shit about you, you're the idiot.

To extend this thinking, he doesn't give a shit about his country either, clearly. It's just about what's in it for him. He is the worst president we have ever had by an order of magnitude. Eventually others will figure this out.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 34 points 1 day ago (5 children)

MAGA doesn't care. Trump phrases things to sound like "you're not a REAL American unless you believe what I tell you."

So now, "not letting Iran have a nuclear weapon" is it. If you aren't "smart" enough to know that's more important than anything else, you're a loser and a traitor.

They will never turn on Trump. Never. Gas could be $7.00 a gallon. They will just regurgitate whatever they are told, and the blame will be put on whoever they're trying to discriminate against.

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Lmao gas is already $7 in some places

These are gift-wrapped, made-for-midterm-attack-ad comments, and the political sphere reacted as such.

No, because MAGA sees Iranians as brown, so it's fine to bomb them.

Whoa. You’re saying the narcissistic conman predator doesn’t give care about anyone but himself??? WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING???

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And yet the morons keep worshipping him.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

yup. It's amazing. He truly truly doesn't give a shit about anything but enriching his pockets, yet people ACTUALLY believed he was gonna lower grocery and petrol prices. Like, how fucking dense do you have to be to vote for him not once, but TWICE. His first regime wasn't bad enough, apparently. Now we're stuck with this current shit show.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But he makes them feel good about being assholes, which is why they like him.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

We noticed a long while ago.

[–] Tempus_Fugit@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Lmao, I'll be sure to use this line when I'm near maga cunts.
