I mean, you could try to talk him out of it when you go get the TV.

[–] Spezi@feddit.org 8 points 4 hours ago

Imagine a movie where somebody wants to get a TV from a suicidal person and they become best friends while he comes to pick it up.

[–] antonim@lemmy.world 43 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Talk him out of it, but take the TV anyway.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

And take the chance he decides he needs the TV after all?

No thanks.

[–] diabetic_porcupine@lemmy.world 2 points 18 minutes ago

Only? Where do you live in, the batcave?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Last time I was in Costco, that was the smallest size they had.

[–] eli@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Well yeah, it's Costco.

You have a Costco membership for bulk savings.

You can save by buying bulk because you have the space/storage at home for it.

If you have the space for bulk, you probably also have the space for a big ass TV.

Makes zero sense for Costco to carry small TVs.

If you don't have space at home, you can't buy bulk, so there's no point having a Costco membership.

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 hour ago

Idk, buying "in bulk" nowadays is just getting the bigger sizes you don't normally see at other stores. When I first heard about it, I was imagining you could buy pallets of stuff on the cheap, really it's more like you can get a double sized box of whatever (limit 4 per customer).

Ah, the duality of Man.

If I'd take every "I'm gonna kill myself" post online serious, my life would be very very worrysome.

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 16 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Somehow I feel like you would be thrown in jail if you did this.

[–] Entertainmeonly@lemmy.blahaj.zone 36 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

They'd just shoot you during the wellness check in America

[–] lyralycan@sh.itjust.works 6 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

because in the US you can't kill yourself. if you try and fail you'll be charged with a crime.

corpses don't generate profit. you will work until you die of "natural causes".

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Fortunately, suicide by cop is a sure thing. Point a pencil in their direction and they'll empty a clip on you.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 1 points 6 minutes ago

Their aim sucks though, so have fun recovering in the ER where they won't let you die.
