It looks more like the truck was parked close to a fire. That’s probably why the paint has a yellowish tint.

Fuck Elon

Paint?

These dumpsters are made of bare stainless steel. If you see a colored one, it's probably wrapped. In this case, it looks like they wrapped over the lights and the heat deformed the vinyl.

I can’t believe that the light bar would generate enough heat to cause that sort of damage. All the lights on other models of Tesla’s are LED, which generates very little heat. I can’t believe they’d use something other than LEDs here as well.

Light focused in the right way can generate ample heat even if produced by a low-heat source, like an LED.

I work regularly with theatrical LED lighting fixtures. They’re downright cold compared to halogen stage lights.

Correct. However my 11 year old son plays with an LED flashlight and a magnifying glass and it is downright scary what he can fuck up.

Ohh your right. I forgot. Never saw one in real life.

I envy you. When I go out and take care of errands and stuff in downtown LA, I almost always see at least 1.

Wonder if it was vandalized. I haven't heard of this defect so someone could have taken a torch to it. It actually improves the looks, makes it look more like a piece of shit.

That or they used very cheap smoke tint and the heat capture melted the housing.

Oregon plates. That dumpster is in my state somewhere.

Things look like they were made out old stainless panels taken from scrap refrigerators and ovens using a sheet metal brake.

First impressions: "I see! It looks like something from a futuristic warzone!"

After seeing how it works in real life: "Oh. It... It looks like something out of a warzone. Yeah, there was a small problem with this logic."

Did they try to make their own gasket or do they just look like that
