She sells magical crucifixes and has warned of consequences from God for those who don’t stand with the president.

The president’s spiritual advisor, Florida-based televangelist scammer Paula White-Cain, said at a book-signing event this week that saying no to Donald Trump is the same thing as saying no to the Christian god.

While speaking during the event, White-Cain recounted how the president asked her to join his Evangelical advisory board before his 2016 inauguration, saying, “He’s got a strong persona, don’t get me wrong. Don’t start a fight with him.”

“Why would the evangelicals come out and vote for him?” she asked before saying that “God told me to” join his advisory board.

“Because one thing I said, ‘I’ll never do politics,'” she said. “But when it came down to it, it wasn’t about doing politics. It was about an assignment. To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God. And I won’t do that.

I wonder if anyone has told this stupid bitch that a majority of this country has always said no to this piece of shit.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 2 points 57 minutes ago

All the more reason to say no to him. As if I needed more reasons.

saying no to Donald Trump is the same thing as saying no to the Christian god.

The right thing to do, because each has a documented history of being an utterly despicable despotic cunt?

Sounds like she's worried her income stream is about to end.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

God God? As in Doctor Jesus's dad?

So all those little girls screaming "NO" during the decades of child rapes were actually talking to God?

As a socialist and an atheist, this just saves me time and energy. I only have to say no once.

[–] GreenBeanMachine@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

Saying no to tRump is like saying no to drinking diarrhea.

Enjoy drinking his diarrhea.

Here's some real Christianity for you:

Christ said it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Slime balls through the centuries have tried to weasel their way past this simple truth with convoluted and ahistoric readings of Christ's words. But at the end of the day, the historical Jesus was a poor person. He hung out with other poor people. His friends were beggars, lepers, prostitutes, and social outcasts of all sorts. He lived like a poor person. He spoke like a poor person. He lived with other poor people. If you wanted to join his club, the first thing you had to do was give away all your wealth. He said rich people don't go to Heaven, and he meant it.

There is no such thing as a moral billionaire. There are no billionaires in paradise. Trump and his cabinet are a carnival of the Damned. I do not claim to know what level of wealth damns a person. But by the time you've hoarded enough wealth for a thousand lifetimes, you're certainly past that point. There are no billionaires in paradise. In the end, every last one of them burns.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

There are no billionaires in paradise. In the end, every last one of them burns.

Sometimes I really wish I was part of the cult so I could believe this. As it is I can only settle for that primal fear every person has to experience as they know they're at the very end. The Great Equalizer. But yeah, until then they're going to live fantastic lives off of our labor. Not quite as satisfying as an eternity burning.

Other real Christianity~

Christ will return leading a Holy Army that will murder everybody who doesn't bow down to Him and accept Him as Lord, many millions upon millions will be killed... and they won't even have peace in death, as Christ will condemn them to eternal torture with Hellfire, as He will all who won't worship Him who lived before, unfathomable tens billions of souls, all tortured forever and ever.

He's gross. He had some good points, but He's no moral authority on anything

Who cares what this charlatan thinks? Prosperity gospel is blasphemous and evil.

[–] Tiral@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Man, I don't want to be offensive but even if you're conservative leaning (which is totally fine) Trump as a person is freaking nuts. If you can't agree with that you're probably in a cult or have a cult mentality. If someone you worked with had the same personally they'd be fired and you'd think they're nuts.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Guess it's the official position of American Christians that saying no to a felon rapist is the same as saying no to God.

I don't have children, but if I did, I'd be keeping them far away from Christians.

She's right from a Biblical standpoint, per "Bible Logic".

Bible Logic: render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, Caesar is ruling because it is God's Will that they rule.

... and this is why we abandoned "Bible Logic" many centuries ago, because it's stupid.

Her official business, Paula White Ministries, has told its followers that it can “assign an angel” to those who pay the ministry $1,000. The angel will allegedly “give you long life” and “be an enemy to your enemies,”

Yeah but then it becomes a bidding war. What if someone else already paid for a divine hit against you? God loves everyone but loves cash even more.

Of course these scam goblins love Trump.

MAGA angels are just hookers with magic powers

[–] Big_Boss_77@fedinsfw.app 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Wow, what a rip off, don't listen to this lady. If you want one, I can set you up with the same deal PLUS VPN protection for $995.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Throw in a discount code for exorcism and you've got a deal, buddy!

[–] Big_Boss_77@fedinsfw.app 2 points 1 hour ago

You're in luck, I don't usually do this, but God herself just walked into my office and said for the next thirty minutes, I can include exorcism at no additional charge.

“Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

"But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!” - George Carlin

I need to atone for some genocidal conquests, how much will that set me back, like around $2K ish? You have coupons?

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

You have been excommunicated from evangelical crazy town for woke talk.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 1 points 2 hours ago

Ooh, how much did you pay for the excommunication?

I’m so sad she’s married to the keyboardist for Journey. It’s. Upsetting. And I don’t even like him.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 hours ago

Hot take: she SHOULD stop. Believing. Let go of that feeling.

From her perspective it actually makes sense.

God = The thing I make up stories about so that people give me money.
Trump = God

Pretty logical once you understand that these people don't believe in anything but making money.

[–] Australis13@fedia.io 34 points 9 hours ago

Ah, another arrogant individual who presumes to know the mind of God.

I loathe televangelists. They are nothing like the Christ they claim to serve.

[–] imahappyguy@lemmy.world 32 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

The language she uses is why I despise the evangelical movement. It deigns us powerful and that leads to abuse of that power and supercilious arrogance that you are forever justified. No wonder the western christian church thinks their defecation smells of roses.

The more money you have, the closer you are to god? That's mammon worship. Shameless shills for people who already have more than their fair share.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 3 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

That is calvinism. The prosperity doctrine, or I'm sorry it's originally evolution something, but not the real type I can't recall right now. Wealth shows god's favour, the lack of it his rejection. They would like to help the poors, but it would be defying god's will if they did.

It's all predetermined, and a self serving philosophy.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 7 points 6 hours ago

It's like these people literally never read the Bible and what Jesus had to say about that exact thing...

There's an episode of MASH where Klinger is trying to use voodoo on Colonel Potter to get his Section 8. I can't find the clip, but I'm pretty sure that's where she got this dialogue from...

[–] imahappyguy@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

That's my favorite Korn song
