I think you're confused about why we're confused. Nobody uses the word "Visualizer" in this context. It's a made up term.

Ok it was like a moving background with music ... Cool but I also never heard of visualizer in that term. Honestly I'm hoping it does not catch on. Gives me memories of Winamp with Milk drop or other visualizer plugins. Think I'm also old.

Same here. I miss those.

Sorry bud, it's been around since like the early-mid 2010's. It was definitely inspired by winamp, though they've been incorporating elements from the animated League of Legends main menu screens. In this decade we have a program that will take community-made visualizers and project them onto your desktop background, so it's basically come full circle
