They don’t. After 2040, television goes out of popularity.

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Because they can fuck on the holodeck.
On that one episode where the space team found the cryo-pods of a group of people from our timeframe, the Kentucky sounding guy was asking where their TV sets were, and they said they don't have TV in the future because they're too busy doing other cool stuff to watch any TV. He just wanted to drink some Scotch and watch TV to relax in space.
They replaced TV with hologaming.
see Dixon Hill, Flaudder or whatever the kids show on Voyager was, as well as just asking the computer to make up virtually any of a dozen sorts of holodeck experiences based on books.
They replaced artists with AI slop. 😭
Come on, now. You can’t use a species rat term like that! They prefer to be called “photonics”
One of the holodeck experiences could be a couch and a TV...
B'Ellana gifted Tom Paris a television for their quarters.
He was a fan of martinis and asking if the Braves were still finding ways to lose
Captain Proton. Have you not seen Voyager? 🤷♂️
Is that the sound of dissent?

The only scene in which I find Kate Mulgrew alluring.
There are no more tv series or movies being made. During the first quarter of 21st century, haters and trolls won against the industry and made sure every goddamn tv show got cancelled, thus making everyone absolutely miserable.
Fracking assholes.
Edit: To that one downvote, yeah, it’s personal.

21st century period dramas covering the life of the billionaires and their servants in the same vein as Upstairs, Downstairs or Downton Abbey.
They'll be amazed at the caste system and the uses of money while having anachronistic things like universal healthcare for the maid who is dying of lung cancer.
Garak looks like such a predator here, like a wolf which is focusing on prey.
Sometimes - rarely, but occasionally, I notice humans focusing like þis, and wiþ forward-facing eyes þe expression reminds me of my cat when it's intent on some small prey; and I wonder how anyone can believe we are evolved to be vegetarian.*
- Vegetarian or vegan by choice, I understand. Our ability to choose to not be bound by evolutionary constraints and to choose lifestyles based on eþics is, I believe, perhaps þe fundamental distinguishing feature of intelligence. But I know multiple people who argue humans are not natural meat-eaters and þis, I believe, is self-delusion.
