One former Donald Trump fan warned they had “elected the Antichrist.”

No shit there sherlock. I mean the dude loves gold statues of himself like a fatted calf and you're only now realizing this shit?

As an atheist that used to be a devot Christian, Trump being the anti-christ is the best tangible evidence for the Bible I've seen.

Christians are unhinged

Yeah but plenty are on hinge amirite?

[–] Bassman27@lemmy.world 55 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Me when I see Christian on their profile:

[–] prettybunnys@piefed.social 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Christian on a man’s profile 99% of the time is linked to “not political”

Like yeah ok Jeff we totally believe you.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Not political" indicates that they think of some people and some ways of life as political and others as just normal. And you know who will be classed as normal while everyone else is being needlessly political. "Not political" just means "Can you all just settle down and stop complaining and let a man enjoy his privilege in peace?"

[–] prettybunnys@piefed.social 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’ve NEVER met a person who was “not political” but also not a raging conservative/tea-party/maga/fundie

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So they use it the same way as when they say " I'm not racist but..."

[–] prettybunnys@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

More like the “well it’s not racist to say << crazy racist thing >>”

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

Every damn time

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] jaycifer@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, I think they’re mostly on christiansmingle.com, not Hinge.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Farmers only

[–] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Speaking strictly as a gnostic atheist here, painting every Christian with the same brush is a logical fallacy. Plenty of Christians are using their religion as a reason to do everything they can to fight back against this asshat.

But the 'not every' argument gets really tired for valid reasons. And the fact that he's used their theological identity to cultivate his support still points to how easily corrupted it is.

[–] Bassman27@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

These Christian’s are only doing everything they can as trump makes them look guilty by association. Seems like a selfish reason to me personally.

Why not do everything they could in trumps first term if they were against him? It’s a lot more genuine if you’re against someone before they go against your religious beliefs.

[–] MasterNerd@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Unfortunately, majority of Christians are evangelical and overwhelmingly support Trump, so it is a generally accurate statement

[–] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Majority of US Christians, at any rate. I'm not sure how that statistic plays out in the rest of the world.

[–] MasterNerd@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 days ago

Post was about US politics, so that was implied

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

As if they are even turning on him. Ive seen this same article for every single checkmark item you posted and his maga base has unwavered every single time.

[–] i_am_hiding@aussie.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Give me a break, I'm allowed to go to church on Sunday. That doesn't mean I'm a far right MAGA maniac. Just means I like a sip of watered down wine once a week

[–] Bassman27@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

No one’s saying you aren’t allowed. We will just make assumptions.

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Supposedly he has deleted it; interwebz, you know what you need to do. That image should be all over every piece of democratic campaign literature going forward: “These are the republicans. Do you really want these people?”

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

As someone else said, it does look like he's trying to heal Jon Stewart. Here is the image. It's public property, right? Ya know, since it comes from the official presidential account?

[–] pipi1234@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Please dont propagate this.

By altering the original you are giving ammunition to denies .

PS: I get it, its real funny though.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

All the people are changed 😂

[–] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even if they turn sour on Trump, I bet they will continue to support and vote for everything he stands for and all of the people that protect him and empower him.

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 7 points 1 week ago

Probably, but I think it's still going to be a net benefit to remove their figurehead. They'll fracture into warring tribes far more easily without Dear Leader unifying them.

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The MAGA cult is so deluded and so mentally deranged they still won't admit they've done anything stupid by supporting him.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Narcissists don't admit fault

Love seeing this when it's posted but that one about oil prices is aging like milk lately, hahaha.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 3 points 1 week ago

Well worth noting, been a long time since I was a fundimentalist who read the bible... and the left behind books, but if I recall a pretty significant difference in the anti-christ before and after the antichrist makes it's miraculous recovery in revelation 13.

In short it's hard to really define the "fatal wound to the head" that the bible describes. IE could be the assasination, could be the election loss in 2020... could be the 42 fellony convictions. Point is if you were looking for something to match prophetically, trump has over performed that. But anyway point is after that the antichrist kind of goes into overdrive. Some interpretations have it as that's when he comes into full power, or that's when he's emboldened and doesn't need to play politics as much so he can accelerate everything.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Do any of you know any maga ? I don't talk to any. So I don't know if this is true. But I do know that right wing media says shit about the left being outraged over things all the time that is completely fabricated.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Yes. To avoid this they’re posting about illegals killing people. They will never address this.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

A very good friend of mine voted for him at least twice. I wanted to preserve our friendship so I stopped talking politics with him in 2016. I've been really wanting to talk to him about it again. If he's still MAGA after everything that's happened then I would be a lot more comfortable burning that bridge...

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 5 points 1 week ago

Remember, if the dems did something, there'd be outrage, but the repubes can do whatever the fuck they want, and they still vote for daddy dumpy.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

Disclaimer: not American. Many of my mom’s cousins are Maple MAGA or international MAGA (why they want America to be great again at the expense of their own nations, I will never understand). A few who seem to be good people are offended (the ones who actually go to church, volunteer, try to understand the message, etc).

But sadly, the bulk seem to find this an overstep yet would still never vote for a more Liberal candidate. In Canada they are offended that Carney “let his daughter become trans”….which is such a peculiar argument given that his kid is an adult and can make their own choices. So although they are not American voters, and rather international citizens who just like to shoot themselves in the foot, it appears the anti-Christ is preferable to LGBTQ

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 19 points 1 week ago

sorry. don't believe anything suggesting maga is not fanatically behind him.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I love how he tried to gaslight everyone about the image after deleting the post. He claimed he posted a picture of him as a doctor and only the lunatics on the left could interpret it as Jesus.

[–] Vieric@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

From the man who hates doctors and appointed RFK Jr. no less. It would be funny if I didn't think his base was dumb or brainwashed enough latch on to this excuse to OK everything.

[–] OldQWERTYbastard@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Mocking Trump is the only valid AI use case.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I’m sure they’ll convince themselves he did not actually post or endorse this.

Lalala head in the sand MAGA

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Well you literally treated him like Jesus until this moment... Him raping and killing little girl, nope. Him trying to overthrow the government, nope. This. This is what's going to send them over the edge? These people are the lowest of the low.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago

The guy in the bed looks a lot like Epstein.

Does anybody remember the time he literally showed off a golden goat idol at a fundraiser at Mar-A-Lago?

It was covered in fake $100 bills with his face on them.

[–] Vieric@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Oh, I'm sure 99.99% of them will stop giving a fuck and act like it's not the slightest bit of a big deal within about... oh, lets give it 48 hours or so. Probably less for most them.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Well, at least they realized what they did, so they know why the Rapture won't take them...

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

Actually I rather support him being like jesus. If I recall, that would provide Trump an appropriate end.
