What's painful is that the next league game is Man City, and there's a mid-week game first.

I think Arsenal will emerge from this slump before the end of the season. But, I don't think it will be by the end of the week. If this were one of the few weeks where there wasn't a mid-week game, then maybe. Take a day out of the physical training and just try to fix what has gone wrong mentally. But, with the most consequential game of the league season coming when the team is mentally weakest, ugh. What a disaster.

Lost my cat yesterday, and now this. Horrible, miserable weekend. I just feel awful.

Someone give Wenger a call or something

Yeah summarise it at the end of the season, I guess. It’s not over yet.

I’ve already started thinking about replacements though.

I cannot believe that this is similar to the team that beat us (Bayern) comprehensively in the champions league league phase.

I truly hope the team recovers their mental freedom. City have bought enough fucking titles with their oil money

It's not. Most of the players are the same, but something is broken in them.

At the beginning of the season, Arsenal's defence was so good that for several matches in a row, it was common for the opposing team not to manage a single shot on target. Now it's unusual if the opposing team doesn't score.

That was not good

I'm trying to to come to terms with us throwing the title away, and the inevitable banter, snide comments, and hyperbole from the haters.

I know it's not done yet. But the way things are heading it's only a matter of time. Injuries are playing a part, but that's a factor for every team. The bigger problem is this psychological hoodoo. And fuck knows how we overcome that.

The best way to look at it is a new beginning. Depends what’s left if it goes south too, there’ll be some people going.

There’ll be nothing to lose next year and I’d expect a team and manager with that attitude.

[–] Astrealix@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

there's been nothing to lose for years now

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, well, they aren’t playing like that and haven’t been for a while.once again tonight they just folded. That second goal was ridiculously easy.

As far as I’m concerned if there’s no title this year we move on to a new manager. One who is willing to play with some flair. Ditch this Kmart Pep shit.

I mean the thing is I do think the tactics work, the problem is with the mentals and the injuries. Not sure how to fix that. Maybe bring Henry in to yell at them or something.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 1 points 4 days ago

Yeah, I’m not so sure now ay. I think there’s too much micromanagement and control.

Yeah maybe Henry might make some difference, though I assume all this has been said.

I don’t understand why we just keep playing back. It’s like we recess into a hole and it’s repeatedly after we score. Not only that, teams carve through us with ease. Even with our injury list, the team we fielded yesterday should be good enough to win at home. Both their goals were from poor defensive work.

The football has been dire for a long time. Now it isn’t productive at all.

I really hate being anti anything and I’ve been positive about what Arteta has done for a long time. He’s definitely put the club back where it should be. For that, he absolutely should have the benefit of the doubt if he wins the title. That however isn’t an elective any more and that view can be seen broadly across the supporter base.

I truly hope we can turn it around; we all deserve better. I can’t help but cast my mind continually back to that supporter of ours on the Overlaps fan show who got hammered by their pundits for this exact thing and they stood firm. That bloke doesn’t deserve that humiliation; he deserves to be celebrating.

There was something went on at the ground with Bournemouth people and our supporters as well, some incident.

That was dogshit.

That’s probably it, this team isn’t beating City. They aren’t beating Newcastle either.

The projects cooked, I think.
