Is Trump actually taller than Putin? I never cared about height but I know in political photo ops that’s a big deal.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 hours ago

That is because right now he is

Not just peace but business in general. The man is fucking famous for bankrupting everything he touches for crying out loud

They should know Trump is a running dog for Putin.

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world -2 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Yea feels stupid to blame the puppet instead of the puppeteer

[–] IEatDaFeesh@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) (2 children)

Unnecessary distinction. Trump is choosing to do all of this. A lot of people probably have a lot of dirt on him, but he's still making his own choices.

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Choice? The dude has more kompromat than anyone else on the planet. Hes doing what hes told

Given his current level of lucidity, I doubt he's capable of independent thought as he still has some hangers-on and aides who appear incompetent but actually have plans of their own, pushing the bastard to approve of their ideas. That he is also but a product of a game long played by vested interests: Roger Stone, the anti-climate Mercers, the Christofascists behind Project 2025, the oligarchy in general, and of course the Chinese and Russians who'd found him the perfect agent of influence.

He's so fucking smug, so convinced to be winning but is truly isolating and destroying the US from the inside and indirectly benefiting the new hegemonies realigning the world order.

I think we've reached the point in geopolitics where there's half-a-dozen hands pulling on any one person's strings.

Trump has made it crystal clear that the 21st century will be China's Century.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

We can has Spanish century II: Catalan boogaloo?

[–] nathanjent@programming.dev 12 points 6 hours ago

I used to joke about my children having to fight in the "Trump Wars" during his first term. Then he got reelected. It's not funny anymore.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 11 points 9 hours ago

Not only Spaniards, every sane person will put US as number one enemy of the world.

Finally a country that sees the reality of the situation.

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 7 points 9 hours ago

I think they all see it, but are scared to say it out loud in case he gets activated. Like when you see youre being watched late at night. You dont run and scream immediately you sort of walk a tiny bit faster trying not to let them know that you know because that'll trigger the chase.

I was unaware that most of the world is Spanish. The more you know..

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip -2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It is the most broadly-apoken language.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 6 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

It is not.

English is the most broadly spoken language (native and non-native speakers). Mandarin has the most native speakers.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

I'm surprised english is the 3rd highest natively spoken language.

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 0 points 5 hours ago

Really? I thought that had changed, but it looks like it's still got a long way to go

US invading Iran is similar to Putin invading Brazil btw distance-wise. Which one can you imagine ever happening?

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Im 42 and I can't remember a time the US wasn't over there.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

There's even a meme about it.

Born too early to be sent to the middle east.

Born just in time to be sent to the middle east."
