Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but the rocky mountains are right at the border between BC and Alberta snd they’re pretty stark looking figures
AskACanadian
A place to ask Canadians questions and get answers. The most obvious questions would be about Canada, but you can ask about pretty much anything; news, current events, society, etc
I don't intend this as an AMA format, but can entertain some. Rules:
- Be civil and act in good faith.
- No trolling.
The price of gas shoots up when entering BC from Alberta
The signs change language
The quality of asphalt drastically decreases and the frequency of potholes increases when crossing into QC from ON. Still love QC.
Same going from Alberta to Saskatchewan.
I don't know if this holds true in general, but I noticed on a road trip that when we crossed from BC to Alberta, the rest areas seemed to disappear. Like in BC most roads have stops along the way with gravel parking lots, maybe a little park with an outhouse and a picnic table, or a viewpoint with some signs describing history. When we crossed into Alberta it was like the rest stops disappeared. But it might have just been the road we were taking.
