"We're fighting wars,"

The ones you started? You're a disgrace to the integrity of the Fifa Peace prize.

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 49 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That prize used to mean something and now it's irreversibly tarnished.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 week ago

That's what you get when you buy your gold from Ea-Nasir Consolidated Metals Inc.

[–] Lon3star@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I thought they were special military operations

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

Freedom Actions is the correct terminology 👍

[–] GutterRat42@lemmy.world 67 points 1 week ago (3 children)

He really doesn't want a base of voters, does he?

[–] U7826391786239@piefed.zip 86 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

pretty sure the GOP is banking on "voting" no longer being an actual thing in the near future

in other words, no, they don't give a fuck whether they have a "voter base" or not

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

May be the endgame. While the Southern Strategy was all about securing enough voters in a functional system through various means, the next step is just removing the voting issue altogether and gain even more power.

[–] U7826391786239@piefed.zip 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

after they cheat their way to retaining majorities in both house and senate in these upcoming midterms, it's all over. anyone who thinks there's any chance of coming back after that is still delusional. "make sure you go out and vote!!" lol, ok...what do i do when they throw away all the ballots that aren't straight R all the way down?

personally, i think it was already all over when everyone allowed the GOP to steal the scotus nomination from obama. and THEN the GOP threw their own "rule" that they made up on the spot out the window to allow trump to nominate his third scotus justice.

everyone who is or was in a position to prevent the millions of steps require to get to this point-- they're all complicit

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't disagree, but also I remember when the SCOTUS handed the 2000 election to Bush and ordered Florida (incidentally governed by George's brother Jeb Bush at the time) to halt the recount. They've been stealing power for a while now.

[–] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And it all comes back to Roger Stone

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

That motherfucker. He's been out of the spotloght for a while. I had to check if he's even still alive.

Villain dressing the part.

[–] nightwatch_admin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

At this point, it is likely he doesn’t need them anymore, and around a third will support him at any cost anyway.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Apparently not.

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 43 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I mean, imagine an ~~Iranian~~ American regime who, instead of spending billions of dollars supporting ~~terrorist groups~~ Israel and building up all of these weapons, had invested that money into ~~Iran~~ America, for the people of ~~Iran~~ America, so they wouldn’t have ~~water~~ healthcare shortages, so their economies would provide opportunities for an incredible people.

House of Cards has a season where Kevin Spacey starts a fucking war to cement his position. It's literally playing out in the white house right now and I can't fathom why more conservatives aren't pissed about this.

[–] Dogiedog64@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You don't hear more conservatives complaining about this because half of them are blacked out from how hard bombing foreigners makes them, and the other half are too busy jerking it in their truck to the thought of liberals getting """owned""" at the gas pump. We live in a reality that is a parody of itself.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think that you give them too much credit. Most are just too stupid to know what's going on.

[–] Dogiedog64@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I didn't say they weren't stupid. What I ascribed to them and their stupidity are not mutually exclusive.

[–] Jordan117@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

More like cement shoes, in this case.

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

It’s not cementing his position though.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How about we cut off Trump's access to healthcare? See how long he lasts.

[–] orlyowl@piefed.ca 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure he already stays alive only by killing a Unicorn and drinking its blood every so often.

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Hey now, Voldemort did that because he was getting revenge on his bullies. The books clearly demonstrated that Harry's dad was a total dick to Tom Riddle. Unicorns died because Hogwarts had terrible anti-bullying policies. It's like the author is pro-bullying or something.

[–] orlyowl@piefed.ca 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I feel compelled to point out that it was Snape Harry's dad bullied, not Tom Riddle.

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

My bad. I haven't touched any of those books in ages. The ones on my bookshelf probably have mold growing on them by now. It hasn't turned me into a TERF yet so it hasn't spread to the walls of my house.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

In other news, Taco is a flaming asshole.

I thought we already "won" weeks ago?

WTF is this about paying more for this clusterfuck? To the tune of cutting off services that so many rely on?

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As long as Trump is just going to fabricate stuff and lie to our faces, maybe next time he can just invent the entire war effort itself and not actually drop a single bomb. “We’ve destroyed China. No one’s ever seen anything like it. Totally obliterated.”

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

That wouldn't make all his billionaire goons money though

[–] Dotdashdot@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago

People keep talking about the Trump Files so now they gotta pay for more distractions!!

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Burn in hell, you piece of shit

[–] mirage@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Don't forget the 100% tarrifs on name brand prescription drugs...

[–] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

My migraine medicine cost went from $5/month to $40/month. I've taken on more expenses and my student loan payments start in two months. If my medicine costs more than it does, I can't afford it.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 week ago

“Humanity on a cross of iron”

[–] SpankyDoodle@eviltoast.org 11 points 1 week ago

Fuck off and die you ass crack.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

Guess it's time to shut down the military if you can't afford it and keep using it for class warfare against the working class majority of humanity

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Waiting for the old white Republicans to justify this when they are all on Medicaid.

[–] Vreyan31@reddthat.com 5 points 1 week ago

At some point, even the Republicans have to be ready to impeach this sheisty, full of shit motherfucker.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At what point will this piece of shit be [ Removed by Reddit ] ? It's really only a matter of time with as many people as he's pissing off. The unhinged republican voters are the most dangerous, and he's getting awfully close to pissing them off.

[–] datendefekt@feddit.org 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You're not on reddit here, you can say it.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

No he can't; it would violate the lemmy.world ToS. Maybe user accounts on other instances posting in communities in other instances could do it, but not that user posting here.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

why say it? the information is still shared

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

America first! Right after everything else.

[–] rossman@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

This dudes pumped up on drugs and saying gibberish. His doctors would whistleblow on what he's on and maybe that'll invalidate his words.

Reminds me of the trope in movies where the king is ill and words are taken literally based on whoever. No surprise when they'll AI gen him after he's gone.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Hey sitouts: satisfied?

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

The fucking video player not once played what the title suggests. But he did ask them to buy oil from us. I know he lied when said we have plenty. How much do we have?
