This turns political convictions into a race or illness. The authors mention that there is no direct link and that the brain is malleable but I think that this is part of the bigger trend that people with different political convictions separate themselves and talk less when they need to talk more.

The POTUS himself displays clear signs of fronto-temporal dementia.

That form of dementia often turns the sufferer callous, aggressive and lacking empathy. Unsurprisingly, those are very common traits among conservatives.

My own experience dealing with my father when he had fronto-temporal dementia totally matches this study's findings.
