Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

[–] Kn1ghtDigital@lemmy.zip 37 points 4 days ago

Nah. Punching Nazis time.

[–] Yliaster@lemmy.world 60 points 4 days ago (2 children)

How about the pedophile class stops discussing children?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 9 points 4 days ago

And deciding what everybody else should be doing with their genitals, especially children's genitals.

Stop thinking about them, you MAGA PedoCon Pervoids.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 4 points 4 days ago

"You certainly seem to spend a lot of time thinking about children's genitals," is my go-to to get them to shut up.

[–] heyWhatsay@slrpnk.net 58 points 4 days ago (1 children)

“Stop the Sexualization of Children Act" .... Maybe the GOP should stop being pedos instead.

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Maybe the GOP should stop being instead.

I am fucking sick of the entirety of these "people" having their wntire concept of being trans come from porn and therefore be entirely sexual in nature. I honestly don't want to live on this planet (or this country, or at all) anymore.

[–] polariscap@lemmy.cafe 16 points 4 days ago (2 children)

For sure. Living just to spite the hateful fuckers over here.

[–] night_petal@piefed.social 7 points 4 days ago

Yeah. I had to make an autocorrect edit. They get these ideas from porn.

[–] hemmes@lemmy.world 39 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Man, they are really obsessed with trans life

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

As a leftist, you know how often I think about Trans folks? Not much.

No more transitive verbs or translated texts. No more transportation networks or radio transmitters. Don't even talk to me about the crossbeam between the door and the window above it. And if you mention transfer students you're getting suspended!

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

On the bright side we no longer have to worry about trans-fats. Yay!

[–] NaibofTabr@infosec.pub 2 points 3 days ago

Also that whole section on the Transcontinental Railroad? throw that out.

No talking about the transmission in shop class, or Transylvania in literature, and you're pushing it, astronomy class, if you mention Mare Tranquillitatis.

1984 would be offended at rhis level of control and censorship.

[–] thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 4 days ago

The best way to "stop the sexualization of children" is to eliminate the Epstein class.

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 29 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Sorry kid, your Optimus Prime backpack is banned. Automotive class is also canceled because we can’t discuss changing gears. History class will not be discussing what was completed at on May 10, 1869 at Promontory Summit, Utah. Those of you who have completed driver’s ed can pick up your licenses at the Department of Portation.

I fucking hate these people.

Cut other parts off, since they're probably using them to diddle kids anyway

Yet another page right out of Hitler's playbook.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 28 points 4 days ago

My people are once again a political scapegoat.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 20 points 4 days ago (2 children)

This is why they're so obsessed with censoring "porn" because anything they don't like is "porn"

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

anything they don't like is "porn"

That's the weirdest part, they rage against it, they move to ban it, and then their search history shows up and attests to constant gooning to it.

How did the "Don't say gay" plan work out for you in the past?

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Surely this will fix the affordability crisis.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 14 points 4 days ago

I look forward to seeing the new Ministry of Portation.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

These people are morons

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 11 points 4 days ago

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 10 points 4 days ago
