Referring to woman as "bitches" might be part of the problem.

Or, is that the "joke", I don't gen Z humor a lot of the time, it seems.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 13 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

He doesn't say he himself is bitchless. To the contrary, he's wondering what it's like to know this which implies he doesn't know which means he did got a girl and is, in fact, bitchfull.

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

I've always hated this take especially considering how the music industry has a whole genre that specifically refers to women as bitches and no one is ever upset by it and women even dance and sing along to them.

But say it online and ho boy now it's a problem

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 2 weeks ago

I have always had a problem with it.

You're bitchless because you're single

I'm bitchless because I have a boyfriend

We are not the same

I prefer to think of it as having the bravery to end a bloodline that reaches directly back to the first earth organism. The buck stops here.

[–] SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Depending how far back, pretty sure most weren’t consensual…

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 weeks ago (6 children)

Are you suggesting there was a time when most children were born from rape?

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Or coercion, or a bunch of other closely related things. All across history there have been “incentives” for women to lower their standards and to gaslight themselves into believing that their shitty situations were normal.

I mean. This is framed as humor but a lot of people genuinely think this way. Derogatory terms for women aside, if you're not happy by yourself you're not going to be happy with a partner. Unfortunately this is the sort of thing you need to understand on your own and internalize because the kneejerk reaction to someone telling you this tends to be "having a girlfriend/boyfriend/partner actually would make me happier"

[–] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Most of them lived in a time where you could just rape a woman and her parents would pay you to marry her to keep them from being publicly shamed and ostracised.

[–] ThunderQueen@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

For the latter part of that long time, the "payment" was the threat of being disappeared. See, "shotgun wedding"

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 weeks ago (11 children)

It's fine. I'd consider it immoral to choose to bring a child into this world. Now, adopting one who's already been born, so their existence isn't your fault, that's another story!

[–] ParadoxSeahorse@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Please also consider fostering, you’re badly needed

But your grandpa had a brother that got none. 🙄

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 2 weeks ago

Is this incel humor? Is it supposed to be funny?

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago

There's a reason he's "bitchless," and the reason is listed right there in the first sentence.

[–] Sp00kyB00k@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Have you tried to have just a regular conversation with women? I mean I seduced my wife by saying 'Hi, how are you' and listening to her. Yes, men and women are not the same but if we treat each other like humans, you can actually have a nice time together.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My wife tells me that's what attracted her to me. She said I could hold a conversation and listen.

Which is also what attracted me to her. She could talk and had her own mind. "Treat each other like humans" seems like an easy ask but I apparently scooped up the best wife ever because nobody had done that before.

"Feminism is nothing more than the radical belief that women are people."

The differences between men and women are largely just fashion and custom. Women have interests, wants, lusts, and dislikes that are as varied as those of men.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah there's a bunch of women I associate with that find me attractive and have either expressed interest in me or told me they would be if not for various external factors. I don't really do anything besides be in pretty good physical shape and go out and be chill towards everyone. It's not too difficult. Trying too hard is where I always ran into trouble.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I am just the natural product of generations of slightly queer people having kids until finally my 100% queer ass was born.

But also: I do have a bitch. She's laying on my feet, keeping them warm with her soft fur.

[–] Encephalotrocity@feddit.online 9 points 2 weeks ago

"... be bothered to put out the barest minimum effort".

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

People are talking like this in their 20s, like people never get married in their 30s or 40s lol. Chill the fuck out, develop skills and hobbies, and love will come.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@piefed.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, 20-somethings do NOT need to despair, although I would also add: make it a priority if love is something you truly want to find.

I see lots of people talk like this while not taking any active steps, as if the love of their life is going to knock on their door and tell them to stop scrolling and marry them.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I mean, I’ve been married for ten years to a woman who sent me an absolutely unsolicited and unprompted message on OK Cupid, where my profile was so disused I nearly forgot about it.

Sometimes the love of one’s life does just knock on their door and tell them to stop scrolling and marries them.

[–] definitely_AI@feddit.online 8 points 2 weeks ago

I'm kidless- not bitchless. Big diff.

[–] jack_of_sandwich@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 weeks ago

Pretty sure my mother was "bitchless". Though maybe there was a part of her life she never shared with us.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Same with childless. I'm the first in my entire lineage that will not leave offspring. It feels good.

[–] definitely_AI@feddit.online 3 points 2 weeks ago

The buck stops with me.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago

Thou maidenless cur are thus for a reason.

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago

I'm probably murdering my fathers surname if my aunts and sister follow Spanish surname custom since I'm not having kids.

Too bad.

[–] poke@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

Unfortunately for you, however, you are maidenless.

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Hahahaha...haha...

hahahaCrying

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

There have always been people too weird to get laid. And if you're talking like that about the people that "deny partnership" it's a good thing that trait will not procreate further.

[–] CheesyFox@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 weeks ago

"Can't"? I won't, thank you very much. People are gross and life is kinda a hot garbage
