I'm not too big into gore, but it's usually the only way to see uncensored footage that we can't see elsewhere like what goes on in war zones or political vacuums.

I tried using the search tool to find communities that allow this kind of content and came up short.

Where can I find gore communities on the fediverse?

Probably more on PeerTube

a different Fediverse service dedicated to video, aimed at being more of a YouTube analog

rather than the Reddit-alike Threadiverse.

searches

This looks like an example.

https://bestgore.fun/videos/browse

EDIT: Or https://goresee.com/videos/browse

EDIT2: I haven't tried interacting with PeerTube instances via Lemmy or Mbin or PieFed myself, but there's some level of integration.

It looks like maybe each user on a PeerTube instance has a "locked community" that contains their video posts from Lemmy's standpoint. So, for example:

!unitednations@bestgore.fun

or

!nihil@goresee.com

You could try subscribing and see if the future posts from those users subsequently start showing up on All for you and other people who use your Threadiverse instance as a home instance.

But I can't provide much advice, as I haven't explored any of this before.

My own suspicion is that it's probably preferable to create a separate account on a PeerTube home instance. Like, their web UI is geared around making it easy to search and browse video content.

The only one I know of is also specifically for footage of operations in the Ukrainian/Russian war. And I can't recall the exact community name ATM.

Not likely going to see it on a general server. Threads like that comes up on 4chans gif board every so often. Might be better for you to go there.

It doesn't have to be a general server.

There aren't any instances that allow gore? I thought the fediverse was supposed to be about variety and getting to choose what content we get to see.

Feel free to host yourself if you like

What you would find is an instance allowing that content would be defederated from just about everyone really quickly.
