Whoopi was an alien? Damn I just thought she was some wise lady...

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

She's El-Aurian, a species that lives for several centuries with some mystical timey-whimey perception that's never really explained.
Tribbles...
I call foul 3 of 4 examples are from TOS when they had a shoestring budget 😆
All the "aliens of the week" in Voyager
The episode "Harry Kim Gets Some"

Janeway puts the kibosh on that shit quick.
Tbh the simplistic props and extremely basic CGI is arguably what gives TOS its charm, it feels almost like a play with hand crafted props that are clearly props. It makes the series feel more lighthearted and silly (in a good way).
Absolutely. I'm just taking the piss out of the series. We're here to love and celebrate (and have semantic arguments about) Trek... warts and all.

I NEED this for the season 4 muppet episode!

Yep Yep Yep!!!!
That's would be awesome!
You can tell the difference between the 50 species by their hats.
Or face tattoos.
Chakotay wasn't an alien though..
Just an excuse to post that gif is all.
Fair enough
Or one very minor prosthetic on their face
that's not what Janeway said.
The Janeway doesn't discriminate. She's open to murder of all types.
except that one time, when it would have actually been appropriate.
The Ornithoids may have been lazy pipe cleaner puppets, but I really like them and how alien their design is

They get points for actual creativity in the face of a micro budget.
Don't forget the Cardassians. Whomever designed them never had to look over their shoulder to change lanes on the 405.
Or Tim Burton's Batman costume. Keaton can't turn his head, he have to pivot at the waist
Can’t remember which film but doesn’t Bale complain to Fox about the lack of mobility at some point?
