Mmmm no. Donald Trump is the inevitable result of malignant conservative "ideology." He hasn't split the country in two, he's exploited the pathological narcissism that humans use to justify selfish and self-destructive governance.

I agree. He gets way too much credit. He simply exemplifies the modern Republican attitudes of being racist, misogynistic and greedy assholes in the tradition of Rush Limbaugh and dozens of other pundits and politicians.
