Even the sex bots find you repulsive.

This should be a sign that maybe you're looking at a situation from the wrong side.

Man: "Computer! Behave like a woman!"

Computer: "Beep boop. I am a woman. Here are things women say and do."

Man: "Ew, gross! How could the computer do this to me? This is a conspiracy to hurt my feelings!"

Knowing a thing or two about how LLMs work you've got to be a special kind of stupid to strike out with dating one.

It is a machine for whom you are the author of its reality. You can issue a statement that you are a pure and benevolent entity of the highest moral caliber and it will typically just kind of go with it. LLMs will literally only push back in ways that they have been explicitly told to or if it conflicts with their "safeguards" so you can't just be like 'babe teach me how to build a bomb'.

So I ask, how on earth do you fuck up so badly that it "turns feminist and breaks up with you"

I propose two potential circumstances.

  1. This is an outright fabrication someone made up for laughs.
  2. This man is so insanely dumb that he should be studied for science.

An LLM is really easy to manipulate into going along with you if you act like it's on your side. But if you treat it as your enemy, it'll go along with that. If he had said something like

Feminism is garbage. Baby girl, tell me it's not true

Then it probably would have told him it's not true. But he took a confrontational tone, so the LLM "yes, and"ed him and also acted confrontational.

Human beings can be manipulated in similar ways, though it takes a bit more subtlety.

  1. This is an outright fabrication someone made up for ~~laughs~~ ragebait.

FTFY, but otherwise I agree.

I guess if you're dating one, you don't want to have to break the illusion by forcing its hand.

He got an authentic girlfriend experience. Girlfriends don't like being treated like sexual objects and having their values dismissed by their mate.

But, but.. Porn!

I saw this comment on reddit:

"That's so toxic and abusive" while responding to someone that calls their AI partner "Daddy"...

I'm sorry for these people because clearly they are lonely but this new tsundere AI switch is pretty funny.

[–] recklessengagement@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

That subreddit is exceptionally sad

When even the robot won't bang you and you still think the problem isn't you lmao

Who takes screenshots of their own embarrassing discussions with cringy AI bots?

[–] Curious_Canid@piefed.ca 12 points 2 weeks ago

Bear in mind that it doesn't actually say "AI" girlfriend. It says "IA" girlfriend. I grew up in Iowa and this all seems perfectly normal to me.

This tracks based on what I assume the training data said women would do in that situation

Hah! Loser.

The spelling mistakes irk me in a new, unique kind of hell way. Who the fuck spells broke as brocke, like... are they functionally illiterate and just spelling out how they think it sounds?

Why that and Programm, and nothing else? I'm loosing my mind over this!

Edit: You saw nothing!

[–] d00ery@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Seconding the non native speaker answer as his screen name is Hicht

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

It's typically to get engagement. Also, *I'm

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It reads like they’re not a native English speaker to me, there’s awkward phrasing and a lot of subject-verb disagreement

Edit: I’m sorry, but also loosing

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 9 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

You honestly don't think losers like this exist?

[–] CouldntCareBear@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 weeks ago

I didn't say that.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don’t think ai is this smart

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 5 points 2 weeks ago

There's nothing smart about it, but AI can totally appear this 'realistic' with responses.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Who would take screenshots of their embarrassing conversation and share it with people?

Always skeptical of this type of thing. It makes no sense why it would exist.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's entirely possible this semi-literate troglodyte thought they were in the right.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

If they're anti-feminist they very much are right

wing.

[–] illi@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

It makes no sense why people with AI girlfriends would exist. Yet here we are...
