Let's stop with the doomscrolling. We're living in an age of unprecedented wealth, with millions entering the middle class every year.

People live longer than ever before, with better nutrition, and better medicine than ever in our history.

This is also the most peaceful time in our history, with record lows in crime and wars.

The developing world is surging in wealth and in the west we have more opportunity and access to information than ever.

That headline makes me unreasonable angry.

25 Million Kilos of Plastic. So 25 Billion pieces of Plastic? Kilo isn't a unit (kph infuriates me just as well)! But we don't stop here. They could just as well say 25 thousand tonnes, or 25 kilo tonnes of plastic

sorry for that micro rant.

Its awesome that they got so much plastic trash out of the oceans.

For better or worse, kilo is a pretty commonly used shorthand for kilogram.

Or kilobyte, or kilometer, or kilosecond.

One time I asked for a kilo and the guy says what?

Or kilobyte, or kilometer, or kilosecond

I've never heard kilo used as an abbreviation for these. Kilobyte is KB, kilometer is klick, and kilosecond in a silly unit that almost no one uses due to the existence of minutes and hours.
